Gordon Klingenschmitt is excited about a recent Fox News poll that claims that 58 percent of Americans want to repeal Obamacare, declaring on his “Pray In Jesus Name” program recently that people ought to be relying on God for their healthcare.

Citing a passage from Exodus 15, Klingenschmitt asserted that God will protect people from disease so long as they obey His commands and said that Americans “ought to look to the Lord for our healthcare.”

“I personally prefer to look to almighty God as my healer and not to the government as a substitute god or substitute healer,” he said, before praying that this nation would “repent of worshiping President Obama as if he is a god”:

  1. So… he just talks his mind and people believe this guy and listen to him? Look guys, everyone, God created us in all our imperfections, emotional or physical, and when you have a physical ailment, no mental prayer will help. Now if your having trouble dealing with some emotions yes praying helps. But if your going to tell me health manifests into Gods physical realm through the emotional realm, its just not how he made reality, you let misleading lecturers alter your natural human beliefs. This isn’t right. And what of the dead who prayed? I can’t believe people like this actually speak to the public.

  2. I would SO LOVE to be working in the ER when this guy comes in with his coronary arrest (or his embolism, or his brain hemorrhage) in progress and just sit back a watch while he prays to be cured.

  3. If people want Jesus to take care of their health.. let them sign a waiver saying they won't hold the government of the United States responsible for their health issues anymore .. !!!!!!!!!! . more power to them .. ~

  4. I agree that Fundamentalist Christians should definitely rely on Jesus for healthcare; perhaps if enough of them look to prayer instead of science to cure them, we'll see a desperately-needed thinning of the Herd Of Ignorance And Illiteracy with which our country is infected.

    • He is "Of the Devil". Just as we all know that Obamacare is a substitute for the healing powers of our Lord. We in kind know that when Gordon received his bachelor's degree in political science, he has used that as a substitute for studying the Bible and the word of the Lord. I pray that God heap burning coals upon his to drive out the demons of his unhallowed soul.

  5. Before men developed the ability do kidney transplants, a thousand could pray, and with kidney failure, you still died. Now many live on. Is it because we pray better now?

  6. How effing stupid. Even "Answers in Genesis" member Bodie Hodge, went to the hospital when he had heart trouble. And those people are about as fundy as they come: https://answersingenesis.org/blogs/ken-ham/2015/1

As an addition, the stupid thing is? This is the same Bodie Hodge who said that if Nazis were knocking on your door, asking if Jews were inside, that it'd be immoral to lie to him, since one is supposed to leave things in God's hands. http://fstdt.com/QuoteComment.aspx?QID=67789

But, when HE had heart trouble, it was off to the hospital for human intervention. So much for the advice he gave earlier about "letting christ reign".

Yeah. That's something to think about isn't it?

    • That was Mother Teresa's belief: sickness is from sin; you deserved it; you only deserve hospice care, not good pain relief or curative treatment — and those beliefs make her a saint in the eyes of the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church. Of course, in the eyes of every actual health care worker in the world, she was a sadistic — and a hypocrite as well, because when her health began to fail, she sought out actual curative and palliative care. Oh, but she's been beatified. Horrific action by the RCC. Lionizing and teaching people to be sadistic withholders of care.

  7. So now we worship Pres OBama? These fundamentalists are letting their politics get in front of their Christianity. I can't feel too sorry for them. They worship FAUX News, then speak these silly lies….and what's sad, is their sheeple will drop their insurance to follow their lies.

    • Yeah, that's a new one. They used to just say "Obama is the Anti-Christ". Now "Them bad people worship Obama as God"? Guess they gotta try out new abusive phrases every so often, to see if they'll catch on, to see which lies will help them more in the next PR campaign.

  8. I his remarks is the thinly veiled message that if you are sick, it’s because you displeased God in some way. This message has caused so much pain and suffering spiritually for many people struggling with illness. As a hospice chaplain, I too often have to attempt to repair this damaging message given to terminally ill people.
