The end of the world will begin in 2017, Christians say – and it’s predicted in the Bible

Christmas is drawing near, so it’s about time for some cheery bunch to predict that the world is going to end next year.

Sure enough, some Christians over at website Unsealed reckon the end is going to begin in August 2017 – citing a Biblical prophecy popular with doomsday believers.

Unsealed reckons that the date 2017 ties up very neatly with Biblical predictions of the end – based on the dates of the establishment of the state of Israel.

This ties in with passages in Revelations which discuss the return of the Messiah – based on ‘Jubilees’ in the calendar.

In fact, a solar eclipse on August 21 next year might mark the start of festivities – with global disasters, war, famine, pain and suffering and the death of 75% of all life on Earth.

Unsealed says, ‘This is a theory regarding the Tribulation beginning in Fall 2017 and ending in Fall 2024. I, along with many Watchers, was hoping expectantly for the Blessed Hope this Fall 2015, but the Fall Feasts are over and barring an unexpected rapture, it appears as though God has other plans. We must endure patiently until He comes!

Unsealed reckons that it’s also 6,000 years since God created the world – which would be a nice, neat date to wrap things up on, wouldn’t it?

We should point out at this point that the Bible specifically says that no one will know the date of Jesus’ return, with Matthew 24:36 saying, ‘However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself.’

Unsealed says, ‘2017 to 2024 offers the only timeline in recent memory where the Tribulation of 2550 days could begin unquestionably on a Fall Feast date and end on a Fall Feast date. In fact, the alignment is kind of shocking

‘Many thoughts to ponder, but just remember that the LORD can come at any time, even well before these speculative dates. Keep watching and looking up!’

  1. I'm going to shoot the mythical 7 headed dragon out of the sky and save the earth from its demise. Thank you very much I will be sending every person on earth a bill for my services.

  2. I feel that you all are obviously self centered to sit here and dis respect and insult those who do believe . If you do not that’s choice but don’t go disrespecting those who do an so what they made a prediction and if some of kills themselves over it I’m sorry for their loved ones loss but they made that choice hence the meaning of suicide and ik it’s hard to lose the ones you love but it’s no excuse to disrespect others beliefs.

  3. How old are these Christians you are talking about? Adults? I'm not an adult, and I don't believe in any of these prophecies. As you could tell, my friends aren't adults either. Well, guess what? They don't believe in them either.

  4. The only way the world will start to end is one Faith is around the world this will cause other faiths to start a war with each other. Remember this is a war on souls and to get people to stop believed in there own faith and cause confusion. This will start in the Catholic faith 1st as its started all ready from 2012. There is also the end of the Catholic faith with the last pope Francis. There is a war in the Catholic faith already with child abuse and what pope Francis has changed in some well held for hundreds of years. No killing unborn children which us now chanced using condoms just to mention a few. This has cause a crisis in the Catholic church of Rome. So you could say the anti Christ has started on one of the biggest faiths already this is the start of the fight between good and evil and the start of a holy war. Iv been a medium and psychic for over 40 years and am 99.9 % right in what I see and say. No one with know the 2nd coming of Christ the day the year or hour. Just to let you know that don’t believe in the person who says or does good believe in your hart and ask for god to show you. Remember the anti Christ is not going to do bad things he will do good for you to believe in him. Then when he chances it be to hate.

  5. It may be Christians who are saying this (would not surprise me), though they should know better, but it certainly is not the Bible. Much of the Book of Revelation is symbolic and must be explained or interpreted by scripture preceding and following it, as well as the whole of scripture, as with any text (a text without a context is a pretext), For example, the “woman” in Revelation 12:1: “…..a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet,,,,” is explained in Revelation 18:1 as “..that great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth,” which Revelation 17:4-6 identifies as “Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth” (verse 6) . So you see how [Christians] who do not know how to interpret scripture properly using sound and proven principles of biblical interpretation (hermeneutics), knowledge of ancient Greek, and prayerful reliance on the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) can read into biblical texts like Revelation 12:1 (and others like it) whatever they want in order to make it mean what it does not mean (what is eisegesis, not sound biblical exegesis). The problem is that many Christians, though they know that scripture explicitly teaches no one knows “the day nor the hour…only the Father (Matthew 24: 36) still look to “signs and wonders” and “newspaper exegesis” (reading current events into scripture) to try to ascertain the chronology or general time of Christ’s Second Coming when the whole thrust of prophetic teaching is to prepare us to be ready (that is, faithful in our service to Christ and His Word) for His return. Undoubtedly there is sense of urgency concerning this “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13) of Christ’s return, but I would not be the least bit surprised if 2017 passes without any world shaking news, just as did other ridiculous predictions ( i.e. 2012 in Mayan calender, 4-blood moons, etc.) . Remember, the media loves sensationalistic news, especially if some “Christians” report that this is what the Bible teaches . Don’t be deceived by such sensationalism. Read and study your Bible yourself, as did the early Christians at Berea to prove if these things be so (Acts 17:11). God bless.

  7. Comment:”but of that day no one knows, not even the angels in heaven nor the son but only the father”…end of arguments

  8. The Watchers is another name of a group of pedophiles who operate in our times. Christians (I am one who follows as best I can the teachings of Christ) have never been remotely right in the hundreds of different time frames and their thousands upon thousands of predictions of end times. The Rapture isn’t in the Bible even remotely, the diety of Jesus was decided by votes, the stories of the Bible were not new or of Jews origin or, in most cases, even the second religion to tell them. Relax. You’ll know the end times becuase the deaths Wil be all around. We do have a strong clue thouhh. There are many, many, many more false teachers than real today.

  9. A broken clock is right twice a day, so one day some cataclysm will befall us and some religious idiots will go their deaths saying, "See, told y.."

  10. I Was really excited and cant wait to see the eclipes but some how we know have to “Wheres Waldo” it and find a deformed dragon and some lady thats giving birth infront of us all ..Now this should be intresting.. but if i dont find anything please never ever let these kinds of people comment and must by law be label as 5150 memtally unstable

  11. Rapture will take place on Friday the 13th, I am not authorised to give you any more info about concerning year, use your common sense. So, if you reason that you will be "Left Behind", then please "DO NOT PANIC" and pray to God that you will not suffer too much here and after.
