Oklahoma Republican Declares That Rape Is The ‘Will Of God’

Women should get as far away from Oklahoma as soon as possible because Christian Sharia law is about to make their lives a living hell.

If Oklahoma state GOP Rep. George Faught has his way, rape will be on the path to being legal in the state. At least that’s what rapists are hoping for after Faught made a frightening statement on the subject during a debate on House Bill 1549, which restricts abortion.

Democratic Rep. Cory Williams masterfully cornered Faught during the hearing by asking him if he believes rape and incest are the “will of God” since the legislation has no exceptions for either, meaning women would be forced to give birth to their rapist’s baby.

Faught’s reply is absolutely appalling and demonstrates once again why women should never vote for Republicans, especially Republicans who want to base our laws on the Bible.

“Well, you know, if you read the Bible, there’s actually a couple circumstances where that happened,” Faught said. “The Lord uses all circumstances. I mean, you can go down that path, but it’s a reality unfortunately.”

Faught literally just used the Bible to justify rape. And then he used it to justify incest.

“Same answer,” Faught replied. Then he argued that Williams’ questions have nothing to do with the bill. Williams vehemently disagreed and explained why.

“You are proffering a divine intervention as the reason why you won’t do that and so I think it is very important,” Williams said before demanding Faught repeat his answer again. “This body wants to know — and myself personally — whether you believe rape and incest are actually the will of God.”

Faught obliged and stated that rape and incest are God’s will because God is sovereign over all activities that happen.

“It’s a great question to ask. And, obviously if it happens in someone’s life, it may not be the best thing that ever happened, but — so you’re saying that God is not sovereign with every activity that happens in someone’s life and can’t use anything and everything in someone’s life and I disagree with that.”

Here’s the video via YouTube.

This is exactly the same kind of statement that Republicans like Rick Santorum and Richard Mourdock made during the 2012 Election.

“I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you,” Santorum said during his run for the presidency. “As you know, we have to, in lots of different aspects of our life. We have horrible things happen. I can’t think of anything more horrible. But, nevertheless, we have to make the best out of a bad situation.”

“I’ve struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God,” Mourdock said during his Senate run in Indiana. “And even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

Both of these guys think that rape is sanctioned by God and that women should appreciate the “gift” God is giving them by force. It’s disgusting and is the reason why both men lost their races.

And now Faught should be ousted from office as well.

  1. I am a survivor of multiple rapes as well as incest. An uncle molested and raped myself, my brother and four of our female cousins (I was 2-4 years old and don’t remember much about it). Then at 7 yrs old I was brutally raped by a family friend. At 15 I was raped by a boy I had a crush on when he was walking me home from a football game. Then at 32 yrs old my 1 yr old son and I we kidnapped by his father, held against my will and repeatedly raped in front of my son while he screamed “my mommy! My mommy! My mommy” over and over again during the course of 5 days. I just can’t see this being predestined or “God’s will” in any form or fashion. I can not see God having any desire for this to happen or for none of the predators to have been punished in anyway. I don’t see God willing a lack of Justice for me when I needed and still do need it. But that’s what happened. I have a hard time making sense of this joke of a politician’s statements and I am convinced that it’s because of people like him are why I never got Justice for what I went through.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

I am still waiting for God to work these horrible events in my life to the good. I pray that one day he will so that then everything will make sense and I’ll be able to accept everything for what it was and begin to move on from it and toward the rest of my life. Until then I live virtually stuck isolated in the perpetual shadow of those traumatic events. Constantly in fear, untrusting of everyone (not just men but women, law enforcement, and virtually everyone who did or would have done nothing to bring help Justice prevail for me), en guard literally 24/7, never able to let down my guard, never able to truly trust and let someone love me. Every thing negative in my life (i.e. negative feelings, negative energy, negative mood, situation, relationship, issue, and anything else negative) has something to do with those traumas that have found a way to shape and mold me and my life into an ultimately traumatic and sad and lonely existence. I wish that God would find a way to work these things that effect me so badly still, to the good, but im not so sure if that is true for everyone, even though I do love God and have accepted Jesus as my Savior. Surely my life didn’t just fall through the cracks……or maybe I did fall through the cracks……:*-(

    • I’m so sorry for what you have been through prayers for peace and justice they may get by with it on earth but one day they have to stand before God and they will pay for what they have done to you

    • Wendy, unreal how many horrible things you have endured in your life. I am sorry though pity is not what you need. And no, christians do not say or believe that rape is the will of God. What we do say is it is terrible as is murder for any reason. If your son had been conceived as a result of a rape would he or you be better off if you killed him? Who are we to say this baby must die because all I can think of is the rape or rapist? Does anortion stop you from thinking of it or would it compound the misery? You have survived unspeakable things. Don’t give the power to the rapists by making yourself a prisoner. God can use even that. You may be surprised to find out you are not alone. You could help in so many ways and screw those people no those evil perverts they do not have power over you. You are still here for a reason. Follow God’s purpose for you and be free.

    • I believe the Bible to but I absolutely do not believe these horrible things are what God wants or even permits. What I do believe is that God gave us free will, and that his heart is broken by the horrible things we have done with that gift. I believe God’s heart breaks and that he weeps with us when we are wounded by the cruelty of this broken world. But he does not randomly snatch back free will each time someone misuses it. He loves us each and longs for his perfect world to be restored. I hope and will say a prayer for you that you will be able to find help, hope, counseling and healing and that God will give you insight into where to begin. I’m certain that you have not fallen through the cracks because God heeds even when a sparrow falls. You are beloved of God and I pray that even today you will find hope and a glimpse of the peace of God. May he bless you and comfort you and embrace you as your good Father, wipe away your tears and soothe the pain in your soul.

    • I am so very sorry Wendy:( Heart breaking life for one to live. Hope you learn to trust and love again. There are still good people out there.

    • Wendy, Ask God to help you to Forgive. Those negative feelings are straight from satan. Don’t give him the glory by living in the past. Go forward in your life.
      I understand,
      Sister in Christ, Irene

    • Thank you for sharing your story Wendy. I pray that justice will find its way to your life and that punishment be applied harshly to those who have traumatized your existence, including those who turned a blind eye to your pain. God speed.

    • Wendy, I am so sorry for all the abuse & injustice you & your child have suffered through.
I have successfully reduced my feelings of trauma & many other issues using the Emotional Freedom Technique, (EFT, or Tapping, as it’s referred to.)
You can do it yourself or find a trained practioner. You Tube has videos.
I sincerely pray for your relief & healing from all of it.
Suffering is never a loving God”s will, imo.

  2. The man truly does NOT know God or the Scriptures! Wrong is wrong and no one can twist it to make it “right”. David’s son set out to kill his brother for raping his sister.
I hope & pray the Sane and Humane
Folks stand on truth. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
All I can say is “Come, Messiah Jesus”

  3. I am totally in shock that someone can be so detached from understanding or even comprehending the absolute horror of what rape really is……… Every woman’s greatest fear is that is how she will die having this happen to them, and for those that actually survive having this happen to them ,……. I can’t comprehend these statements !! A completely male point of view!!!!

  4. Using that logic, aren’t ALL crimes committed “the will of god?” What right do us mere humans have to punish “the will of god” in any way?

    • You are likely mentally ill. Given your level of anger expressed at an stranger, you’ve likely been physically traumatized by someone who convinced you that their actions were your fault. Seek mental health. Dome people use the Bible to justifu their pain but that’s mot its purpose. You’ve been hurt, seek help getting treatment.

    • John the way you address individuals on here, “you people” and calling them “stupid” says many negative things about you. Move on and grow up.

  5. Satan is the god of this age (2 Cor 4:4). God the Father is allowing him to run things down here because we have chosen to forsake God. Although, Satan only has as much authority as God allows him. People forget we are in a fallen state here on earth. We have rejected the instructions our Creator has left for us. If we were living according to God's statutes, commandments, and laws, we would be in harmony with each other and our planet (Is 24:5). We are also down here to suffer. If we are teachable and Christ is our Savior, this will remove our impurities much like metal being subjected to intense heat to remove the dross. Furthermore, if we did not know, if we did not witness the abject horror and misery created from existing in this fallen state, and the results of our own sins, we could not make an informed decision to do the right thing. The issue before us is one of semantics. Yes God does allow evil to take place. But it is never God's will for some one to violate another sentient being sexually or otherwise. I believe rapists were stoned to death. (Dt 22:23-24) Concerning the baby killing…you never know, maybe the baby you just killed would have been the next Mahatma Gandhi or MLK.

  6. I am a Christian for anyone to believe that God is “ ok “ with rape or incest and still claims to be a person who understands the will of God and a Christian is off the mark. Likewise anyone who takes what someone like this says and then paints all Christians with this brush is also off the mark. To understand the will of God isn’t a hard concept “ GOD IS LOVE “ HE DOESN’T HATE HE DOESN’T KNOW HATE. The will of GOD is that all of the people that live on the face of the earth come to a saving faith in JESUS THE CHRIST. If you think I’m wrong,ok, you are free to think what you want do what you want as long as you don’t infringe on my beliefs and freedoms. I do have a question, why in the state of California is there a bill pending to make Christian Churches accept the LGBQT BLAH BLAH BLAH Ideology what gives the state the right to tell the church what to do? People are worried about “ and it’s always a democrat worried about a republican “ a GOP rep. Says something that a democrat can and will take everything way out of context move what was said and take it 180 degrees and make it sound as heinous as they can, it’s ok I don’t care I can think for myself I don’t need anyone to tell me what to think how to believe. Anyone concerned with the muslims hating gays and other sexually deviant people that they are ok with killing them how about the fact that if a woman or girl is raped she has to find 4 men who witnessed it and say to the mullah she was raped otherwise she gets to get killed, I guess if you’re muslim it’s ok if I was a woman and I was raped I would think my chances of proving it by having 4 men who stood by and watched and then standing up for me in the sharia court, very doubtful. Y’all need to pour some common sense sauce on what you been being fed by the news and elected representatives.

  7. I am sure this is just another case of misquoting someone so you can make him and what he stands for look bad inorder to get sympathizers to support what you stand for… abortion!

    • Agree , things are so taken out of context when on discussing scripture!!! I agree with John also. They do not want anyone worshipping God!!! Bottom line . EVIL
HATES GOD. They want to rid the country of God! But it’s coming fast it’s in the churches today and these crazy preachers also!!!! WHO DO NOT EVEN PREACH ON SIN!

  8. If people take actions and call them a will of God just because it happened, then anything that happened is the will of God. If we make things illegal or facilitates actions to help persons facing difficulties, I’m sure it’s the will of God too. in the case of unwanted or unplanned pregnancies is it not wiser and kinder to help people make their own decisions? Nobody should be forecd to terminate a pregnancy they want to continue ( they should recieve everything they need heathcare and economically) but if they don’t feel like they can master the art of parenting for at least 18 years, a safe early termination is probably the best for all the parties involved. A child deserves to be at least wanted in my opinion. And sometimes God makes really sick babies, he forgets or leaves innocent babies without important features and facing a very painful dead. And in the case of rape and rape/incest when God choses to bless these young or troubeld girls/women with pregnancy ( I’m sure they can adopt the babies) but leaves about 10% of couples wanting babies more than anything, instead of impregnating them thus leaving the adoption step unnecessary? There is absolutely NO scientific evidence that adopted people, parents and girls giving their babies up for adoption are happier than people having their own babies/parents.

  9. I believe that any man who rapes, by any definition, should be executed by any means. The fact that women don’t have any rights over their own bodies is ridiculous. If a man was raped by another man, would it be an issue? Gods law, sharan law, devil’s law, pick one, but if I got raped by another man I will find my vengeance.

  10. The author of this article is simplifying and trying to fit the statements into his narrative. The Bible does have stories where incest and rape produced good. It is so easy to twist to fit one's agenda.

  11. Let me clear things up.
    1. Rape is NOT the will of God.
Now that being said, it didn’t take God by surprise where He didn’t know it happened or what does He do now. God is all knowing.
    2. If a life was created by the incident, then that life has a purpose. Now I’m prolife and always will be.
Question is do we just abort or can God use these babies..100% yes.
Now I’m not one to say abort if one is raped or incest impregnated, that’s up to each person. I personally don’t believe in abortion, and I would never. I’ve heard many stories where a mom kept the child and all was good. I’ve also heard where she aborted the child and I thought none the less of her. Also remember adoption is a choice too.
This article has taken many things out of context as I figured. Again let me say this ..Rape is NOT God’s will. Did it take Him by surprise, no it didn’t. Can through these circumstances God be glorified yes, and that’s up to each who goes through the issues. Do not take that out of context because a woman or man who is raped can turn it around in being able to help others or doing things for the police or helping with new policies or something positive. It was a negative experience yes, but it can be turned around for good.
I’d keep a baby, but that’s me. This is an area where one has to make their decision, keep or not it’s their decision. I’d never condem one who aborted a child. I understand the circumstances. It’s wrong, but that too can be turned around as a positive. I’ve seen God do miracles in that too.

  12. This is why separation of Church and State. The state needs to take care of the people of that State not debate about God, anybody’s religion etc. a crying shame that so much is coming up again to swing down on women, not protect our rights but now trying to change rights we have. Don’t even tell me that this is God’s will, or rape is or the right to make medical choices for ourselves.
