Oklahoma Republican Declares That Rape Is The ‘Will Of God’

Women should get as far away from Oklahoma as soon as possible because Christian Sharia law is about to make their lives a living hell.

If Oklahoma state GOP Rep. George Faught has his way, rape will be on the path to being legal in the state. At least that’s what rapists are hoping for after Faught made a frightening statement on the subject during a debate on House Bill 1549, which restricts abortion.

Democratic Rep. Cory Williams masterfully cornered Faught during the hearing by asking him if he believes rape and incest are the “will of God” since the legislation has no exceptions for either, meaning women would be forced to give birth to their rapist’s baby.

Faught’s reply is absolutely appalling and demonstrates once again why women should never vote for Republicans, especially Republicans who want to base our laws on the Bible.

“Well, you know, if you read the Bible, there’s actually a couple circumstances where that happened,” Faught said. “The Lord uses all circumstances. I mean, you can go down that path, but it’s a reality unfortunately.”

Faught literally just used the Bible to justify rape. And then he used it to justify incest.

“Same answer,” Faught replied. Then he argued that Williams’ questions have nothing to do with the bill. Williams vehemently disagreed and explained why.

“You are proffering a divine intervention as the reason why you won’t do that and so I think it is very important,” Williams said before demanding Faught repeat his answer again. “This body wants to know — and myself personally — whether you believe rape and incest are actually the will of God.”

Faught obliged and stated that rape and incest are God’s will because God is sovereign over all activities that happen.

“It’s a great question to ask. And, obviously if it happens in someone’s life, it may not be the best thing that ever happened, but — so you’re saying that God is not sovereign with every activity that happens in someone’s life and can’t use anything and everything in someone’s life and I disagree with that.”

Here’s the video via YouTube.

This is exactly the same kind of statement that Republicans like Rick Santorum and Richard Mourdock made during the 2012 Election.

“I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you,” Santorum said during his run for the presidency. “As you know, we have to, in lots of different aspects of our life. We have horrible things happen. I can’t think of anything more horrible. But, nevertheless, we have to make the best out of a bad situation.”

“I’ve struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God,” Mourdock said during his Senate run in Indiana. “And even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

Both of these guys think that rape is sanctioned by God and that women should appreciate the “gift” God is giving them by force. It’s disgusting and is the reason why both men lost their races.

And now Faught should be ousted from office as well.

  1. This article has not only twisted & perverted the words of men, but the very Words of God. God is a just & holy God. He hates sin. He would NEVER advocate, encourage, ordain, sanction or condone rape or incest. It goes against his very nature.

I am a survivor of incest and a violent gang rape when I was 16. I barely escaped with my life. I was late getting my period after & I feared I might be pregnant, but I made the decision that if I were, I would carry that innocent little life to term. Although I finally had my period, I would have stuck by my decision. I believed with all of my heart that God was able to make ALL things work together for my good. I believed it then & at the age of 53, I believe it now. God is a good God. He has proven that to me over & over again.

I am an advocate for those who have survived the horrors of rape & incest. I use my voice to shatter the silence & shame that accompanies these crimes & I will gladly use my voice to speak out against abortion for those who also have no voice.

Two wrongs do not make a right. Isn’t that what we have taught our children? How can we advocate the murder of innocent babies for any reason? Shame on those who call good evil & evil good. Shame on this article for not only twisting words, belief systems & the very character of God, but for exploiting survivors to advance his agenda. Shame.

    • Although he sanctions explicitly slavery and how one can enslave people. Giving them instruction to beat them as long as they don’t die within a couple days. The Bible is not moral, it is not the word of god, and it is asinine that anyone still believes this bullshit. If god is real then he wouldn’t advocate for and be ok with a person owning another person as property. Rape and incest aside, how can you justify a belief in a god that is so clearly jealous, angry, vengeful, hate-filled god that would allow one person to own another, yet you call this god a “good god”. This is why I don’t believe in god and why christianity in and of itself should NOT dictate or have ANY correlation or power over the creation of our countries laws. The Bible needs to stop being the jumping point for Repuglicans’ insanely immoral views and beliefs to justify immoral and unnecessary laws like being against abortion. Abortion is not the termination of a fetus it is the termination OF A PREGNANCY. Also, as sorry as I am to hear of your horrific incident you endured, there is absolutely no reason why that child should be forced to be born. That’s absolutely insane, as is your views on abortion. No woman who is raped and ends up pregnant because of said rape should then have to be forced to birth the child because of someone else’s religious beliefs. There’s this lovely thing called separation of church and state which explicitly explains why ones own religious belief should not have any place in creating laws as not everyone believes in the same god as you, or any god at all for that matter like I myself happen to. THE BIBLE DOES NOT DICTATE LAW NOR SHOULD IT. Your “god” is a damn joke and if you think he is just and good then you clearly haven’t read your Bible, as actually reading the Bible start to finish is one way to realize just how morally bankrupt your god and you actually are. Exodus 21. Justify that….I’d love to see you try.

  2. He needs to have his lower reproductive brainstem sawed off & shoved up his mid-back-posterior mouthpiece. God told me personally.

  3. I have lived here in Oklahoma for over 50 years. I realize that folks from other areas like my native NJ can see things like this and be concerned. Trouble is it is not against the law to be so stupid! This will not pass and even if it does (again doubtful) the aclu will challenge this in court and when it gets to the Supreme Court it will be tossed. This happns a lot here again because of the stupid factor.

Oklahoma is a state deviced by urban and country. Folks in the country will beleave any thing some dump ass preature will tell them. "Well Jesus said!". They are good folks who are seeing the way of life they grew up with disappear right in front of ther eyes. Thank God for oil royalty checks or wind mill income. However folks in the cities are not above discounting them.

Fact is thease people are kind and hard working people who are seeing change and are in fear of it. Throw in some asshole like TRUMP and we have a toxic sludge of misinformation and fear being stroked by (Republicans) in a effort to gain power.

Beleave it or not Oklahoma is going to change as evicenced by the election of a Democrat from Oklahoma City when no one thought that was possible. Same thing with TEXAS which is just like OKLAHOMA.

Besides with this kind of fear my wife of 50 years will leave scratch marks getting out of here and then what will I fo!!!

  4. Why are all these people here calling legal abortion, murder? Is birth control murder as well? Choosing a mother endangered life by aborting, murder? Are we talking fetus or baby!?

  6. This is just crazy being that I was raped I don’t understand how anyone could make it legal. That’s just saying hey it’s ok to go out and tape someone without getting in trouble! I think its the womans right if she wants to keep the baby or not depending on the situation ( and no I’m not meaning abortion cause I’m against that) but given the baby to a loving family is the only option in my book . But this is vary disturbing to me that anyone would want to make it legal! Where is the victim’s rights and protection!

  7. Actually Gary, the Bible is “Sheep Herders” guide to ETERNITY. The Goat Herders guide is the OTHER one. And like it or not, believe it or not, there is an ETERNITY for EVERYONE! And both “guides” will take you there. The only difference is whether you will arrive in the SMOKING section or the NON-SMOKING section. I pray that I’ll see you in the NON-SMOKING section!

  8. This is why the churches are burning. Gods pissed y’all keep putting words in to his mouth that are the exact OPPOSITE of what he’s been trying to teach everyone. Cue the next Noah’s arc scenario.

    • How about god puts in a better plan, for example: life happens but no one gets rapped. Honestly the way the words were being put in his mouth was just bad writing but the belief that god puts a plan In motion and can’t unplan rape is just stupid. Worship that all you want but don’t expect us to. I’d rather burn in hell then be in a world where an all powerful god allows rape. I spit in the face of such a god and all the ones who stand behind it. That god can burn in his own created hell. Women will destroy God and save themselves.

  9. This asinine article is biased, misleading, and downright dishonest. Nine of these guys ever said that rape was God’s will. That’s just the writer adding on extras and twisting what was said. Their point was that babies should not be killed because of how they were conceived.

Imagine if someone you loved and cared about told you that he/she was conceived in rape. Would you hate that person? Would you see that person as subhuman? Would you tell that person that he/she should never have been born? How hateful do you have to be to base a person’s worth on how he/she was conceived?

And relax! No one is trying to legalize rape. On the contrary, it is Liberal Democrats who want to endanger women by stripping them of their gun rights and by allowing men pretending to be women into restrooms, locker rooms, and shower rooms with actual women.

    • You’re right that he’s not trying to legalize rape. He’s just trying to take the one situation in the Bible where rape is mentioned and apply it to every single circumstance. The Bible also says that we should not kill. So, would you be good with the exact same punishment for killing another person regardless of the circumstances? The Bible does not give a caveat to killing another person nor do we see anything that concretely resembles justifiable homicide or self defense in the Bible. Yet, our laws make exceptions for those circumstances. I am no advocate of abortion. But I do have enough sense to understand that it’s a choice. No one is dragging women into clinics to force them to have abortions. They can choose to have the baby of their rapist and raise it or to put it up for adoption. The problem is one of morality, not legality. If you believe that all abortions are wrong, then make sure you instill that in your children. Teach your sons to treat women as the Bible commands – not to rape. If men do not rape women then women will not be placed in a position to choose whether or not to have the baby of the man that dehumanized and raped them. I am guessing that since your name is James that you are male, and as such, even if you were raped, it’s an anatomical impossibility for you to ever become pregnant as a result of being raped. You cannot possibly begin to fathom what a woman who has been impregnated by a man that chose to rape her thinks and feels. Just like this asshat that is attempting to twist the word of God into a polluted justification for outlawing every single abortion in every single circumstance. And he does so by hiding under a veil of Christianity whereby he applies the Bible to each and every rape victim impregnated by their rapist by upholding that what the Bible says about rape in one situation applies to every situation when clearly he would claim self defense if he were to shoot an intruder who broke into his home and was armed. Clearly, if Biblical Law applies to rape and being impregnating by a rapist, Biblical Law should also apply to every situation where one person kills another. If not, it is a double standard. Further, if he sees all of the lives of unborn children conceived in the act of rape as gifts from God, is he willing to help be responsible for those gifts himself? For their care, for their financial support, for the complete exhausting job that being a parent to these children? I doubt you would say yes to that – and he would likely share your sentiments. Yet, he thinks it’s his place to tell all women who are pregnant because a man raped them that they should see that child that was conceived in their bodies, against their will, that they should by law be required to have that child, raise it, be financially responsible for it, and love it? His attitude is that how the child was conceived is unfortunate – yes, that is the exact words he used. He’s saying “Suck it up Buttercup. It’s a gift. Not only should you have to give birth to a child that was forced on you by a man who raped you, you should love it, work to support it, and see it as a gift from God”. He has no right to impose that on anyone. God himself gives us all the free will to choose how we live and what we believe. I know that does not mean that people are not free from the consequences of their actions. That being said, anybody who chooses to circumvent the free will of another person – free will given by God – then that person has just stepped way out of the will of God himself. If that person chooses to exercise their free will and makes choices that are not in accordance to God’s Law, be assured that they will stand before God one day, just as you and I will, and he will address their wrongdoings and handle that person as He sees fit. Eliminating the choice altogether won’t fix the problem, it only further victimizes the victim and imposes the views of some on the lives of everyone.

    • You are a God-damn idiot. It is exactly what he said. If they abort before this (bogus) person you are talking about, wouldn’t be here…dummy

  10. The senator is corrector in a sense just not presented well. Rape is evil! I feel for victims of rape. And believe those who rape should face the consequences of their actions and the the victims of rape should receive the help they need. If the victim becomes pregnant, I can’t imagine the feelings they have to carry. I’m sorry for the victim…
Imagine for a moment what the victims went through. Being overpowered, no choice, no voice, silenced. And I see all the victims wanting their voices to be heard, to stand up, to fight back. Now imagine for a moment that unborn child. Voice not heard, wasn’t by choice, trying to be silenced.
I believe the Senator is trying to say is that Good can make Beauty out of Ashes. Part of the voice that was silenced that once to be heard is doing the same thing to the innocent baby, silencing, overpowering, giving them no voice. 9 months, many couple’s can’t have children and would gladly adopt and raise this Beautiful baby.
God is sovereign and knows all things. There are standards to live by and consequences for the choices we make. But every baby is beauty and can be loved even in tragedy. By killing your baby, you are doing the same thing in essence, silencing, overpowering, and giving no voice.

    • You need your head examined! You also need to get some “Hooked on Phonics” and maybe then you will learn reading comprehension skills. There is simply no other way to take the statements these men made. You can say “that’s not what they meant until the cows come home, but their words are glaringly clear to the rest of us. Good grief! Some things are simply indefensible!

    • So you’re telling me that a rape victim should KEEP the baby. Well try thinking about it this way.
Yes, a baby isnt asked to be made. It isnt asked to be placed here or to be aborted.
But I didnt asked to be raped either.

    • Thank you for not getting caught up in the fray!
Anything, including outright insincere misinterpretation is just fine, according to a DEMONRAT!!!! I’m sick of them!!!
If you open your mouth with them you will be annihilated!
They have no bounds to their criminality. They are in power trips that need to be squashed. Republicans fornyears said if you give them 12 weeks gestation abortion rights to them they will want to kill babies! I couldn’t imagine, but here we are. Look into your hearts and you KNOW what is right!
