Conservative Christian Pastor Calls for Executing All Gay People by Christmas Day

This post by Stephen D. Foster Jr. originally appeared at Addicting Info.

Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona.

It sounds like a sermon that would be delivered in Uganda, but it’s actually from the mouth of an American pastor in Arizona.

Conservative Christian Pastor Steven Anderson openly called for executing every gay person in America during a Sunday sermon at his church in Tempe, Arizona. He claimed from the pulpit that gays need to be put to death in the name of God by Christmas Day in an effort to wipe out AIDS, even though AIDS is not a virus exclusive to the LGBT community. Anderson opined:

Turn to Leviticus 20:13, because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.

In addition, Anderson went on a hateful tirade about how gay people will never be allowed to step foot inside his church.

“No homos will ever be allowed in this church as long as I am pastor here,” Anderson declared. “Never! Say ‘You’re crazy.’ No, you’re crazy if you think that there’s something wrong with my ‘no homo’ policy.”

Here’s the video via YouTube.

Slowly but surely, conservatives are becoming more extreme in their anti-gay views. So much so, that some are now willing to endorse genocide in the name of God in a desperate bid to force their agenda of hate upon the nation. Despite the fact that the Constitution is the law of the land, conservative Christians like Anderson want to replace that document with the Bible.

The mass extermination of an entire group people is something the Nazis would be applauding. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, conservatives are acting just like the Nazis did in Germany, from claims that homosexuality is a sign of the decay of the nation, to claiming that it’s a disease that can be “cured,” to calling for killing gay people.

Many in Germany regarded the Weimar Republic’s toleration of homosexuals as a sign of Germany’s decadence. The Nazis posed as moral crusaders who wanted to stamp out the “vice” of homosexuality from Germany…

Because some Nazis believed homosexuality was a sickness that could be cured, they designed policies to “cure” homosexuals of their “disease” through humiliation and hard work.

Thousands of gay people died in concentration camps under Nazi rule.

It sounds like Anderson is one of those who are posing as a “moral crusader” to push their hateful anti-gay agenda. And yet, conservatives have the nerve to compare liberals to the Nazis. If we continue to stand by and allow conservatives to take power in the United States, we may discover to our horror that similar Nazi anti-gay policies have been established under the cloak of religion.

  1. We’ve spent time with this preacher and his wife and they think unless you agree with everything they believe you’re not a Christian. This preacher rejects the teachings of Jesus to live Old Testament fire and brimstone. News alert Jesus changed everything!

    • If that is also true, then he is creating and leading a cult. This is not representative of the life and example of Jesus… far from it, actually. Jesus loved, cared for, socialized with ate dinner with, even touched people society at the time considered unclean and immoral by their standards. Love was the correct message, not hatred. So tired of these wanna be preachers!

      • he also flipped tables over and whipped people for selling goods in a church…
        John 2:14-2:16
        14. In the temple courts He found men selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated at their tables.
        15. So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle. He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
        16. To those selling doves He said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father’s house into a marketplace!”

  2. If they keep spewing thier evil hatred, maybe it will become nessasary to rid the world of them. We can't let the devil hide behind a pulpit.

  3. He’s gay himself. It pretty obvious. These are the typical rantings of a self-loathing closet case. He’ll turn up with a rent boy sooner or later…

    • No, I don't believe he is Gay. That would be an insult to all good Gay and Lesbian Christians who follow Jesus.
He is a very sick and dangerous individual who deserves no attention and he should be arrested and threatened with legal action for inciting violence against other human beings.

  4. The Nazi attitude toward homosexuality is kind of bizarre, from what I have read. Up until the purge of the Brown Shirts, led by a man called Hitler's only true friend, Ernest Rohm, who was openly homosexual, the Brown Shirts, or Sturmabteilung, were a paramilitary force engaging in street battles and instrumental in the Nazi's rise to power. They also represented the more socialistic aspect of Nazism until their downfall. Many other homosexuals were members of the Brown Shirts and again, until their downfall, was not of concern to the Nazi leadership. Their elimination ended the toleration of homosexuality by the Nazis and the socialist wing of the Nazi party.

As other's have stated, it is probably likely this moron is a repressed homosexual himself. A lot of these right wing leaders, in their rejection of modernist values also reject modern psychological interpretations of human nature and are therefore dangerously ignorant of their own true motives.

Settle down there, Captain Hyperbole. Not all conservatives are like this nutjob, and you even go so far as to point out it’s conservative Christians LIKE this nutjob that are becoming more vocal. Don’t start painting entire groups of people of some “immoral” behavior like he does to the LGBTQ community. Don’t become what you hate about him.

  6. If I claim I am a physicist, it doesn’t mean that I am. When someone claims to be a Christian, see how their life squares with Jesus Christ or the apostle Paul. Believe me, this guy doesn’t square. Jesus preached love, humility, and grace. This guy lines up more with Judas than Jesus.

  7. I was thinking the same thing that he is trying to overcompensate his own gayness and Unchristian ethics and law so as to save face. Why would any human being call for execution of anyone who they do not life. That is SO UN-CHRISTIAN and this pastor doesn’t even listen to his own voice. If I had a gun, I would insert liquid soap and aim it at his mouth. Then at his asshole.

  8. REMEMBER THE MOVIE–I THINK–AMERICAN BEAUTY– WHERE HE DAD SWORE HIS NEIGHBOR WAS GAY AND HATED GAYS AND IT ENDED UP HE WAS. THAT'S WHAT THIS REMINDED ME OF.. IT WILL ALL COME OUT IN THE WASH.

  9. He's not a Christian if he's saying all these people should be executed. Jesus came here to save sinners and He died on the cross for our sins and to save us from our sins. These people need the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus never tells us to kill anybody since He came here to earth. Certain things happened before Jesus came here like the animal sacrifices and other things but then Jesus came and now we're to share the gospel. We need to be led by the Holy Spirit. God doesn't say to just go and kill people. God says "do not repay evil with evil, I will repay."

It's about needing the gospel of Jesus Christ which we all need.

    • Your book does quote the killing of gays, witches, people that work on Sunday, unruly children, people with other beliefs, adulter’s and proves it by killing many.

    • If you read that book you believe in, you will find that same passage in Leviticus, and other places. There is a reason both Christianity and Islam can be turned into violent, hateful religions. Until you cleanse your Holy Book of those passages, the potential will always be there for Christians to be hateful bigots.

    • This Ignorant ranting would be clergyman doesn’t know that there are over 600 Abominations in the Old Testament. He has to kill everyone who works on the sabbath, everyone who eats pork or shellfish, everyone who culls their own field or makes cloth mixing wool & linen. And liars like trump & people who falsely accuse others, like Trump & his followers falsely accusing Hillary of pedophilia and crimes are also to be put death. There is no teaching whatsoever against women having sex with other women.

Jesus repeatedly required us to feed the poor. Christians should do that instead of attacking people.
