In 1965 I began my employment with a charitable foundation donor group which sought to offer women full family planning options including abortion.
Many have attacked that position but now we find the Chinese government seeks to kill its uyghurs, its small indigenous Moslem minority.
Genocide has been tried before. Hitler was perhaps the worst of recent examples, but only one of many.
Ironically perhaps, but no coercive efforts to give women the ability to limit their fertility has not kept our world population from growing from 2 billion at my birth in 1931 to nearly 8 billion now, which human numbers have finally been recognized by a significant number of experts as having an effect on world climate.
The ravaging of irreplaceable natural resources such as the Amazon rain forest finally sparked some experts to use the term ECOCIDE, which means advocating assaults on nature as crimes for which penalties could be enforced against countries, companies and people who commit them.
Enforcing limits on human growth now as our media shows us daily increasingly gets done by starvation and the other members of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse as recognition of the sheer limit to human growth gets urgently obvious!
What will we do? Racism remains rampant as Harry and Meghan’s interview just disclosed.
Some like China’s Chi or other dictators see subjugation of their populations as the only way, but with the multi ethnic example of democracy as in the USA, the path to peace and prosperity could happen here. However, it will only happen if we apply the plan of governance laid out by our founding fathers, sans the centuries of racism most recently continued by Trump and the GOP!
Biden could be the President to initiate this anti-ecocide path. He clearly sees and puts climate change as a key administration priority. Will he be able to enlist others to help. See the attached articles on how the US and China might proceed.
