Conservative Christian Pastor Calls for Executing All Gay People by Christmas Day

It sounds like a sermon that would be delivered in Uganda, but it’s actually from the mouth of an American pastor in Arizona.

Conservative Christian Pastor Steven Anderson openly called for executing every gay person in America during a Sunday sermon at his church in Tempe, Arizona. He claimed from the pulpit that gays need to be put to death in the name of God by Christmas Day in an effort to wipe out AIDS, even though AIDS is not a virus exclusive to the LGBT community. Anderson opined:

Turn to Leviticus 20:13, because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.

In addition, Anderson went on a hateful tirade about how gay people will never be allowed to step foot inside his church.

“No homos will ever be allowed in this church as long as I am pastor here,” Anderson declared. “Never! Say ‘You’re crazy.’ No, you’re crazy if you think that there’s something wrong with my ‘no homo’ policy.”

Slowly but surely, conservatives are becoming more extreme in their anti-gay views. So much so, that some are now willing to endorse genocide in the name of God in a desperate bid to force their agenda of hate upon the nation. Despite the fact that the Constitution is the law of the land, conservative Christians like Anderson want to replace that document with the Bible.

The mass extermination of an entire group people is something the Nazis would be applauding. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, conservatives are acting just like the Nazis did in Germany, from claims that homosexuality is a sign of the decay of the nation, to claiming that it’s a disease that can be “cured,” to calling for killing gay people.

Many in Germany regarded the Weimar Republic’s toleration of homosexuals as a sign of Germany’s decadence. The Nazis posed as moral crusaders who wanted to stamp out the “vice” of homosexuality from Germany…

Because some Nazis believed homosexuality was a sickness that could be cured, they designed policies to “cure” homosexuals of their “disease” through humiliation and hard work.

Thousands of gay people died in concentration camps under Nazi rule.

It sounds like Anderson is one of those who are posing as a “moral crusader” to push their hateful anti-gay agenda. And yet, conservatives have the nerve to compare liberals to the Nazis. If we continue to stand by and allow conservatives to take power in the United States, we may discover to our horror that similar Nazi anti-gay policies have been established under the cloak of religion.

  1. Atheist here…this guy in no way represents the vast majority of American Christians and their views on homosexuality. Most of them would probably say it makes them uncomfortable but only a tiny fragment of them (the lunatic fringe) would call for something like this or support it. It seems disingenuous for this piece to prop up this schmuck as some sort of mouthpiece for his religion when in truth he has about as much sway as the Westboro Baptist Church. You would be much better served addressing the open and unabashed hatred of members of the LGBTQ community that is fervently cultivated in mosques around the world. You don't see too many Christians in america who are throwing homosexuals off of rooftops, hanging them publicly, jailing them for their sexuality, stoning them to death or setting them on fire

  2. -!: the interviewer it’s so unprepared…Leviticus and the Old Testament is filled with laughable archaic punishments. This individual cherry picks what suits him…if we would abide by the laws of Leviticus and the Old Testament we would live in caves
Here are some other punishments suggested by the little book he abides by ..
Death (stoning): Giving children to Molech. Stoned and cut off from the people.
Banishment: Following magicians or spirits of the dead.
Death: Cursing your mother or father.
Death: A man committing adultery with his neighbor’s wife – both executed.
Death: Man having sex with his father’s wife (likely not his mother) – both executed.
Death: Man having sex with his daughter-in-law – both executed.
Death: Man having sex with another man – both executed.
Death (burned alive): Man marrying a woman and her mother – all executed.
Death: Man or woman having sex with an animal – kill person and animal.
Death (public execution): Man having sex with a sister or half-sister – both executed.
Banishment: Man having sex with a menstruating woman – both outlawed.
“Bearing Consequences”: Sex with aunt – “they will bear the consequences of their guilt”.
Die Childless: Man marrying his brother’s wife (presumably while the brother is living, because otherwise he’s commanded to marry her).
Death (stoning): A man or woman who is a spirit medium or magician.

Here’s a short list of other actions that face the death penalty:

New brides who can’t prove their virginity if accused by husband (stoned to death at her father’s house). If the accuser is proven wrong, he is fined. (Deut. 22:20-21)
A rapist – but also his victim if they are in the city. (Deut. 22:23-27)
The daughter of a priest who becomes a prostitute must be burned alive. (Lev. 21:9)
God promises the sword against abusers of orphans and widows (Exodus 22:22-24)
Speaking God’s name in a curse – stoned by the community. (Lev. 24:14-16, 23)
Going up on or even touching Mount Sinai when Moses was on it. (Exodus 19:12)
Not resting on the Sabbath. (Exodus 31:14 – carried out in Numbers 15:32-36)
Preaching a different god – up to killing an entire city if drawn away. (Deut. 13)
Any “outsider” (non-Levite?) who comes near the tabernacle during set up or tear down. (Numbers 1:51)
A son who does not obey his parents should be stoned. (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)
Most murders, but with some exemptions for killing a slave. (Exodus 21:20-21)
A kidnapper with intent to sell into slavery. (Exodus 21:16)
Anyone who does not accept the decision of a judge or priest. (Deut. 18:8-13)
The keeper of a bull that kills after being known as dangerous. (Exodus 21:29)
Robbers, idolaters, murderers, adulterers, those who oppress the poor and needy, and those who take interest on loans or keep collateral are equally condemned in Ezekiel 18.
Rounding up this nonsense … why do we give airtime to people that should be under medical and psychiatric supervision …

  3. I have two brothers who believe this about me. I wonder how far they would take it, if they would take it even to my demise. At this point I am not sure if they would or not.

  4. Tell me where in the bible Jesus himself said this or did this or prompted this or didn’t condemn violence and hatred. Jesus was benevolent, loving, accepting, tolerant, forgiving. Jesus was a liberal.

There are christans who complain that we’ve taken the Christ out of Christmas. This vile human has managed to take the Christ out of christianity.
