The Roe Mess Just Adds To The Deep Social Trauma Existing In The US Already

We are constantly hearing the bleating lies by anti-choice zealots about how much they will care for the unborn. The facts certainly don’t support their contentions as you can read in detail below.

The accomplishment of killing Roe so saving fetal tissue over maintaining safe abortions now puts personal choice in the hands of various state governments instead of allowing the deeply personal complexity of having an abortion to be decided by women and their medical professionals.

As we know, statistics show that in the US over half of all births are unintended.

Now that safe early abortions are being made hard to get in many states, the same antediluvian retro fascists who applauded the killing of Roe are considering ways to restrict the availability of the numerous safe methods of contraception.

It should be noted that the maintenance by the drug companies of high price of contraceptives has been a factor for unwanted pregnancies. Allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices keeps getting deferred.

Read here.

As we prance ideologically into poor public health practices, we should at least be cognizant of the facts of not trying in every way possible to allow women the full options to have only the babies they desire.

Not doing so exacts a personally sad outcome not to mention the huge costs of dealing with those born into many situations where parents or other family members can’t raise the babies born to many unintended mothers.

The figures on foster care are most troubling. I provide here the most recent extensive data, which the forced pregnancy forces ignore as they attack choice and broad contraception availability.

Here are state by state numbers of children in foster homes or institutions.

The urgency of reducing human numbers has been out lined by many expert observers and constantly ignored by most world leaders. The chilling testimony from Al Gore on Meet the Press on Sunday July 24th reiterated the scientific facts he had presented 20 years ago and like the population numbers crisis also ignored.

So, let’s summarize the right wing positions which represent the majority of opinions of the Trump GOP whose representatives constantly tell you how they favor your freedom and your civil rights and how these nasty liberal leftists endanger your life!

That MAGA future, as Trump and his ilk have now so dramatically proven, will prove less and less true going forward for our 3 main Federal branches of government and the state legislatures controlled by the GOP.

Here is a list of these Trump GOP “accomplishments” to which you doubtless can add your own:

Blocking climate control legislation
Killing Roe/Casey
Killing government climate fixes
Attacking gay rights
Railing against contraception
Not passing adequate gun laws
Trying to restrict voting by minorities
Not governing, just blocking obvious reform needs
Many GOP Trump voters still backing a disgraced Trump

I doubt DJT will not, even if he is still in control of the GOP and announces shortly his intention to run in 2024, be the GOP candidate. We begin to hear many murmurings about whether the disgraced GOP doesn’t want the Chief Election Fraud Zealot to announce he will run for President in 2024.

One example was the discussion of Trump versus DeSantis on 7/25 in Florida. Read the full story here.

How about picking more noted Trump lovers so the above trends toward authoritarianism can continue. Wunderkind like DeSantis, Cruz, Hawley, Jordan, or McCarthy?

Does the anti-woman GOP need a woman Vice President choice for its 2024 frontrunner? How about Ginni Thomas? At least that might stem a Supreme Court decision against misogyny!

Sadly, the power of the ideologically driven Supreme Court to attack long established civil rights will further emerge in their next session and for years to come.

The November midterms loom and the loss of Congress to the hate spewing, non-governing GOP underlines the fact that moderate legislature progress on climate and many other urgent issues is now blocked by two Democratic Senators.

If by some miracle the midterms could result in enough in the election of enough GOP Senators willing to vote with the still in place Democratic majority and a Democratic controlled House is still in place, some of the predictable horrors of GOP control might be avoided.

I am not an optimist.
