After the June 24 Supreme Court decision to kill Roe/Casey and for the first time in American history to remove a Constitutional right from half our population, is now under reconsideration by many Republicans not for moral or ethical reasons! Why for the same reasons so many of them kowtowed to Trump. To get re-elected.

NEW: A push by Republicans to pass the most extreme antiabortion measures is faltering in some state legislatures + on Cap Hill, as the GOP is forced to reckon with a growing public backlash on abortion.

America has since learned that the major architect of that heinous injustice overturning Roe was a Catholic zealot named Leonard Leo about whom many have now reported.
Read the story here.
Leonard Leo is one of the most powerful figures in the US and has put five justices on the Supreme Court. Leo is also a Knight of Malta and Opus Dei member.

Unfortunately, many Americans may not have fathomed the dire consequences of where Roe’s death will take personal freedoms in America.
Now with Leo’s $1.6 billion stash of dark money we need not wonder at his next targets which among other possibilities will doubtless include trying to block contraceptives and the rights of the LGBTQ community!!
As we know, Republicans had long cozied up to anti-abortion believers because after almost 50 years of far from perfect abortion availability, these hypocrites figured Roe couldn’t be touched.

Then in 2016 there entered the greatest lying and dangerous President in American history. One can only speculate on how many women may have needed recourse to an abortion in his philandering history.
But since using anti-choice rhetoric seemed to work for Trump, he had no conscience about packing the Supreme Court with Catholic zealots to join the one already on the Court.
Killing Roe not only affected women but attacked the precious Constitutional tenet of keeping religious matters separate from secular determinations.
The vital importance of keeping secure the separation of church and state becomes evident as one truly analyses abortion.
The bleating of multiple voices from anti-choice advocates about how many weeks abortion should be allowed completely ignores the fact that no government law should intrude on women’s rights to safe abortions!
This web site just posted a key piece on abortion rights, worth reading in full here.
"It’s a fundamental law of religion that all religions support freedom of conscience until they acquire the power to abolish it."

The only satisfactory position is that this public health issue must only be decided between a woman and her doctor. That means allowing the ending of a pregnancy anytime during that pregnancy!
So now the shabby hypocritical withdrawal by some Republicans from the political hole they dug for themselves.
Wake up! High gas prices will decline, inflation will come back to more normal levels and immigration will continue as now needed to fill critical shortages, but the wanton beast of religious control of a key secular public health issue will continue to plague women until Congress can legislate the resurrection of women’s right to choose.
Here’s how the women did it in Kansas.
