In 1996 George Carlin began performing his routine on abortion which completely covers all the arguments for choice, which at that time was protected by the 1973 Supreme Court decision which after the Casey decision was added in the early 90’s allowed abortions up to quickening—meaning the fetus was a baby able to survive outside the womb—usually 24 weeks into the pregnancy.
That serious flaws in the fetus could be detected also allowed abortions to be performed later, as a woman I knew who had such a problem pregnancy I was able to refer to san MD who helped her abort at 28 weeks. She later had a 2nd pregnancy and had a perfect baby!
Terrible that Catholic zealots now control our Supreme Court, but it is important for all voters to see how far choice has fallen since the June 24 SC decision:
