I have forever been questioning what the hell is any government doing inside any woman’s uterus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Governor DeSantis’s offers his version of freedom that gets a poor reception from all respected media. The headline of 2/27/23 NY Times review of his book, “The courage to Be Free” reads “Preaching Freedom, Ron DeSantis leads by Cracking down”!

NYT scathing review of DeSantis new book ‘The Courage to Be Free’
“…unfree & scary”
DeSantis seems to be insisting that Americans should stop worrying & let him do all the thinking for them!

Governor Ron DeSantis has just signed an anti-choice-abortion bill into law banning abortions after 6 weeks when women don’t even know they are pregnant.
Read here how even before how dangerous the old Florida law was and still is under the new law.
The WaPo goes there, powerfully:
"Backed by GOP supermajorities in both chambers, Mr. DeSantis is waging frontal assaults on press freedom, reproductive freedom, free enterprise and academic freedom"https://t.co/nFI2W74yPi

We first read through a disturbing April 12th article on page one of the Washington Post entitled “For 2 friends, abortion ban in Florida meant denial of care” has dangerous this law will be, as in this case exposing both women to near-death life-threatening circumstances.
Here’s a segment of this comprehensive investigative report based on expert medical opinions:
“Medical records from the visit, which Cook provided to The Post, show that Cook was “gushing amniotic fluid” when she arrived at the hospital, with no fluid present around the fetus. The records say that the fetus was showing cardiac activity, with a heart rate of 131 beats per minute.
The Post, with Cook’s consent, read relevant portions of the records to four physicians, all of whom agreed that Cook had a clear case of pre-viability PPROM, making her high-risk for infection and hemorrhage.
A spokeswoman for Broward Health, Jennifer Smith, did not directly address PPROM, and declined to make the doctor who treated Cook available for an interview. But she said in an interview that Cook was “not at risk” when she left the hospital after her water broke.
“There was no indication she needed any interventional care,” said Smith, the hospital’s vice president for corporate communications and marketing.
Broward’s policy on pregnancy termination, obtained through a public records request to the public hospital, mirrors the language in Florida’s abortion law.
Cook “did not necessitate an abortion in the emergency department,” Smith wrote in a statement. “Had her condition failed to improve or worsened to result in a threat to her life or irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function, Ms. Cook would have been admitted for further care and treatment.”
Cook is still dealing with issues related to her pre-viable PPROM, but clings to the hope of one day carrying the pregnancy to full term.”

To repeat: What the hell is any government doing inside any woman’s uterus???
The June 14, 2022 Supreme Court killing of Roe might lead to several things. Here are two examples.
First, it will hopefully kill many GOP victories in 2024, with or without Trump as candidate.
Second, it may very well cause the non MAGA Trump Republicans to seriously consider forming a new party.
That you may recall is what happened in 1856 when the No Nothing Party and other lesser parties caused a group to form the first Republican Party, nominating a California Senator, John Fremont as its first candidate. In so doing, that split between the No Nothings and the new Republican Party allowed the Democrat James Buchanan, before Trump often dibbed the worst President in our history to be elected. Lincoln, the Republican’s 2nd candidate was elected in 1860.
Teddy Roosevelt’s Bull Moose Party fought his former Republican party and under Howard Taft which allowed the election of Woodrow Wilson, an anti-black!
The cost of Trump to the USA will not end in 2024 even if Biden wins again. The loss of a major party with reasonable integrity has weakened faith in our major institutions, particularly the US Supreme Court, but also in our democracy.
Our treasured republic, which was brilliant for its innovations in 1791, is sorely in need of updating.
We have fallen dangerously into patterns of operation which have led to the alienation of a substantial number of citizens, many of whom are likely confused as to why they got there.
My list is far from comprehensive and as I am not a lawyer, I expect dissent–but I don’t get paid like they do for opinions.
First, is the gerrymandering of states which has allowed both parties to gain governing majorities which can’t be unseated and forecloses substantial numbers of voters particularly minorities from challenging unfair or oppressive laws.
DeSantis released his version of the Congressional map that Ray Rodrigues and all the other Florida legislators are gonna sit down and take. It is a master class in gerrymandering and authoritarian power consolidation. Republicans are poised to pick up 4 seats. pic.twitter.com/QT0Zd9VMNF

Second, the gap between super rich and poor paycheck to paycheck citizens has never been greater, but the way the tax code favors the wealthy has locked in this unfair gap.
Third, who says an old Constitution can’t be altered and improved and changed to reflect new conditions? The so-called Originalists personified by Antonin Scalia and represented on the present Court by majority of far-right Catholic Justices whose religious convictions ignore precedent and thus anger a majority of US voters on the issue of choice, is just one example.
We have had 27 Amendments to our Constitution, some correcting earlier unenforceable ones such as Prohibition. We now need to consider ending the Electoral College system which we see has failed repeatedly to reflect most voters’ wishes as in the case of Trump’s election in 2016.
In a cruelly ironic way, this latest Florida attack on choice which revealed the real Ron DeSantis, may pave the way for a new national right to abortion law and even a possible updating of the antediluvian parts if an aging Constitution which has atrophied into a undemocratic refuge for those who seek to attack freedom and install religious views which remind us of Anthony Comstock’s 1873 prohibition of birth control.
Governor DeSantis’s announcement statement of this new abortion law claiming freedom for women defines perfectly the Wikipedia definition of Doublespeak. “It is language that deliberately obscures, disguises, distorts, or reverses the meaning of words. Doublespeak may take the form of euphemisms (e.g., “downsizing” for layoffs and “servicing the target” for bombing), in which case it is primarily meant to make the truth sound more palatable. It may also refer to intentional ambiguity in language or to actual inversions of meaning. In such cases, doublespeak disguises the nature of the truth”!

One thing you notice about Ron DeSantis is his complete indifference to the real-world suffering his symbolic crusades cause. If destroying your life will get him good coverage on Fox News, he will do it. What would he do with the power of the presidency?https://t.co/mOcVp972HQ
