What!!!! In his 6/14/23 CNN interview with Kaitlin Collins about Trump’s current situation, Michael Cohen offered his thoughts on Trump’s state of mind.
Basically Cohen, who served as Trump’s attorney, and was willing to do anything Trump demanded, illegally paid off Stormy Daniels and served time for doing so, said–I paraphrase my recollection of his exact words–this thin-skinned egotistical miscreant thinks he can do anything he wants without penalty.
Recall Trump’s claim he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in NYC and get away with it!
That truism which has prevailed throughout his life so far, but now perhaps seems up for the test!
Collins asked Cohen whether if Trump is convicted, he should go to jail. Surprisingly Cohen said no, except that he should be confined to house arrest in his home for an extended period. At Mar-a-Lago or Trump Tower? Please don’t make me laugh!
One example of many others convicted of similar offenses has drawn severe prison time.
Here’s one sentence for 9 years for a similar serious documents’ crime.
Harold Martin III has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

The idea that Trump should not go to prison conflicts so dramatically with the constant refrain from politicians-–some but not all Republicans–that no one is above the law!
And we haven’t even heard about his most serious felony, trying to engineer a coup to keep him in office and stop Biden from becoming President.
My view is that Trump will not be nominated for President by the GOP unless the Republican Party wants to disintegrate.
As I have argued often that the US is amidst a 2nd Civil War which like the 1860 Civil War initiated a new party, the GOP, ironically in view of its conversion into racism, tyrannical religiosity and willing to follow a President who starkly ignores the rule of law.
The GOP can’t likely win with Trump in 2024 and thus risks its survival as it can’t get votes from many independents.
Now with the pervasive stink of Trump’s record, the party faces the big question: Who’s their nominee?
