Prospective House Speaker Jim Jordan has been fully discovered and finally discredited as his non-Trump GOP colleagues see his agenda of tearing down our established institutions with no plan for replacement save the growing authoritarianism of his chief backer Donald J Trump, himself increasingly mired in dirt of his own making.

Even when a Speaker is elected, timely action by the House is in doubt.

And then he gets ejected by his caucus. In short, he and what he represents have been UNMASKED!!!
Under all of the Trump House GOP disarray lies the troubling reality that many Republican House members who voted against Jordan received death threats a fact dismissed by the Trump GOP as something everyone gets as if such intimidation was not totally unacceptable in our democracy!
In failing to enact with prompt legislation vital to funding for many urgently pressing issues such as Ukraine and Israel could exacerbate these situations such as increasing the threat of an enlarging war in the Middle East.
And at home there is the urgent matter of approving a national budget before November 16th, which seems under serious threat of putting us into credit default with only a few working days to craft a bill for both Houses to agree on.
Our allies for increasingly good reasons have been apprehensive for months at our divisive governance situation!
Trump and Jordan’s right wing not in House control party, like Sydney Powell, is guilty, but worse as its guilt is the malfeasance of failing to govern and be true to the democratic principles embraced by most of us citizens.
How can the faltering GOP repair itself? Matt Bai’s 10/20/23 Washington Post Op Ed entitled “Trump’s rivals helped create him. They won’t win without admitting it”.
He argues “The only solution might be to stand up and say that you were wrong to have supported Trump in the first place. Taking some responsibility for the grotesque monster you created might be the only way the townspeople are ever going to trust you to dismantle it”.

There is urgent evidence that the Middle East war is expanding and involving our own troops. But aid for the Palestinians is starting today to move into Gaza and widespread diplomatic efforts are underway to keep wider wars from escalating!
I found Biden’s call to action inspiring, delivered with a clarity and conviction that totally erased my fears about his fitness to serve another term as President.
Nihilism can sound plausible to many, but when unmasked as now in the Trump GOP controlled US House of Representatives it becomes a threat to us and our allies around the world. Even some MAGAs may get it!
Our 2024 election is sadly too far away since we need a substantial change in our government now, but the non-Trump GOP representatives in both houses could be persuaded by these crises to join in solving them Now!
