My friend Jeff Johnson asked me to post the below writing. It provides some good background info about the Traditionalist Catholic groups that have been at the forefront in overturning Roe v. Wade -FLC
To understand better what is happening right now it is important to understand the difference between Catholics and “Catholic” Traditionalists. The majority of Justices on the Supreme Court are Traditionalists. Traditionalists believe that they are conducting a Crusade to save Western Christian Civilization-—Christendom. Liberalism is believed by them to be a satanic attack on Christendom. They see liberalism as a sin and liberals as the enemy. They want total power over our society and want to defeat and annihilate liberals and everyone else who does not share their beliefs and vision. They operate through a well financed, organized, minutely coordinated, and displaced network of organizations. Here is a partial list of those organizations:
The Napa Institute, Opus Dei, Hillsdale College, Christendom College, Ave Maria University, Franciscan University of Steubenville, University of Dallas, Thomas Aquinas College, Wyoming Catholic College, The Wanderer, EWTN, the Federalist Society, the Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP), Eagle Forum, Church Militant, Clear Creek Abbey, Knights of Malta, Family Research Council, Catholics United for the Faith, Una Voce, the Society of St. Pius X, the Priestly Society of St. Peter (FSSP). There are more, but these are the most prominent.

Other groups that are closely associated with these Traditionalists include the John Birch Society, the Heritage Foundation, the Hudson Institute, the Manhattan Institute, the Marcatus Center, the Young Americas Foundation, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, the Philadelphia Society, the Mont Pelerin Society, the American Conservative Union, the Leadership Institute, Fox “News,” Breitbart, OANN, Turning Point USA, Accuracy in Academia..….
The most interesting of these groups is Christendom College. It was founded in 1977 by Dr. Warren Carroll. Carroll helped to run a summer program of training for Catholic Traditionalist activists called the Christian Commonwealth Institute (CCI). The CCI was a project of the Traditionalist group headed by Brent Bozell called the Society for a Christian Commonwealth (SCC). The CCI was held in El Escorial, Spain during the Franco years. Bozell and his SCC associates saw Franco’s Spain the perfect model for a Christian society and culture. They used the Institute as a means to train young Traditionalist activists to work to install such a society and culture in the US. The last summer Institute was held in 1975, the year Franco died. In 1977 the Institute director, Warren Carroll, founded Christendom College in Virginia to continue the work of the CCI. Activists coming out of this Traditionalist milieu are at the head of what is happening now in the US. They are disciplined, focused, organized, and determined to achieve the goals of the Society for a Christian Commonwealth and its Institute.
