As the Ukraine war painfully continues, Trump’s first term friend, Putin, gains more and more confidence that US resolve will weaken, particularly should Trump regain the White House.

The stark ineptitude of the GOP House to govern amidst this urgent crisis only underlines what must happen in short order, namely get Kyiv the funding it needs.

In short, Trump favors less money for Ukraine, which could lead to its defeat and the destruction of NATO furthering the combined power of Russia, China and their allies.

Other aspects of a 2nd term Trump Presidency include his stated goal of turning the Federal government into his personal fiefdom by appointing only those willing to follow his orders without question.

You can read the November 30th Washington Post article entitled “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable. We should stop pretending.” by Robert Kagan here.

My Church and State 12/3/23 op ed entitled “Trump Now Often Cited as A Likely Two Term President!!!” mentions other voices with the same concerns.

Read my piece in full here.

Other key issues such as choice, gun control, and undermining more traditional personal freedoms stand likely victims to his retribution promises again enemies from his own party but others who would be subject to his hatred, racism and complete disregard for the Constitution and our rule of law.

Science has already proven our dangerous start toward a 6th Extinction which was again confirmed by the latest failure of the UN Climates Conference ending 12/23 in Dubai where words not deeds prevailed.

As the global effects of environmental disaster accelerate, the US prevails as the world’s number one polluter which despites Biden’s efforts to address would continue to be dismissed under Trump.

Liz Cheney’s comments frighten as she is an articulate conservative Republican insider about the looming destruction of our democracy! Chaney states that she sees Trump abandoning NATO and attempt to remove the 22nd Amendment to our Constitution so he might remain as President for life. With only the Yes Men he plans to appoint our government would belong to him.

One can only wonder at the cowardliness of the GOP leadership who Chaney claims all but a handful of Republicans in Congress KNOW THE TRUTH OF ABOUT TRUMP’s LIES and yet knowing that still fail now as they have failed all along in their dealings with Trump to call him to account! Even she says veteran legislation such as her friend Mitch McConnell have got it all wrong, thinking like those German Conservatives who believe they could control Hitler.

Trump’s legal troubles will not derail his candidacy according to Kagan and Blow as the MAGA GOPs combination of corruption, cowardice, incompetence and what their behavior equals, treason, to the oaths they all took to preserve and protect of democracy.

The religious hypocrisy of some evangelicals will continue to bow to his fascist goals for a 2nd term. Lifelong evangelist Tim Aberta’s latest book “The Kingdom the Power and the Glory” is about “American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism” and tells succinctly and clearly how a large number of white Christian evangelicals supported and still support Trump because they feel he can elevate their political goals.

Read about his interview with CBS here.

Trump’s authoritarian plans for his 2nd term are covered in this article. They include “plans to influence school curricula, prevent doctors from providing medical interventions for young transgender people and pressure police departments to adopt more severe anticrime policies. All are areas where state or local officials have traditionally taken the lead.”

As for reining in Federal Government spending as the old Republicans wanted under Trump and claim they still want, this article notes

The rapid shift in the priorities of the party has led to something of an existential crisis for longtime Republican officials. They have privately said the GOP of today is unrecognizable from even a decade ago, when many Republicans were campaigning on leaner government, balanced budgets, entitlement reform and free trade.

As president, Trump presided over four straight years of rising annual deficits, signing bipartisan budget agreements that boosted federal spending. He launched a trade war with China. And earlier this year, he warned his party not to “cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security.”

“What do we stand for as Republicans? The orthodoxy is a little bit upside down,” said Margaret Spellings, who led the Education Department and the Domestic Policy Council during the George W. Bush administration.

Read just some of his plans here.

Not since the 1860 Civil War have American voters have challenged to determine if our great but fragile experiment can survive!

Will enough Americans awaken in the face of this evidence? I wish I could be more hopeful!
