In 1848 a group of 300 mostly women met in Seneca Falls, NY led by Elizabeth Cady Stanton to demand that women have the right to vote, but it took until 1921 for women to be allowed to vote!
In 1873 Congress passed the Comstock Act which made birth control a federal crime.
A hundred years later in 1973, the Supreme Court ruled on the Roe vs Wade case which gave all women in the US the right to obtain abortions up to quickening when the fetus could survive outside the womb. Roe sparked an outcry from religious extremists which would never have been overturned Roe except for Trump’s use of abortion as an issue for gaining political power.
Prior to Roe birth control was problematical at best. After years of problems for women getting any effective modern birth control devices, the IUD and birth control pills arrived in the late 1950s but the main point was that men still dominated in life’s management and not often well.
Recent attempts to use the Comstock Act to inhibit women from getting mifepristone or misoprostol pills for early abortions were ruled not applicable by the Biden administration.
Of course, the nearly 50 years right under the 1973 Roe vs Wade decision was overturned by the ideologically driven Supreme Court in the Dobbs decision in June 2022. Now the states get to decide on abortion rights, and the 2024 election could determine how that decision fares in the future.
Vice President Harris: Trump handpicked three Supreme Court justices so they would overturn Roe v. Wade. As he intended, they did. Well, let me tell you something. When I am President of the United States, when Congress passes a law to restore those freedoms, I will sign it into… pic.twitter.com/LVENZG6mXd

How long before a woman could win the Presidency? Less than 100 days?
Long before 1848 there existed a long-standing bias against women by males for top positions for every position in the hierarchy of our society except as homemakers and mothers be it business, politics or any field you can name. That continues but has been greatly diminished by courageous women taking action for change.
The late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg graduated at the top of her class in date at Columbia Law School and wasn’t offered a position in any law firm.
Reading her qualifications here so demonstrates the disparate views about women’s potential roles in our society.
While Ruth Bader Ginsburg was studying at Harvard, the Dean of Harvard Law asked her, "How do you justify taking a spot from a qualified man?"
She later transferred to Columbia Law School and became the first woman to be on two major law reviews.

Perhaps my next comment will be read as a sexist trope, but Kamala Harris is a mighty attractive woman whose personal demeanor attracts favorable attention even before she starts talking. Old Donald Trump has enough mug shots to suffice for life. His switch from total anti-choice to saying let the states decide simply translates to permitting states who want to torture women to do so.
Harris’s record of accomplishments is evidence of the qualities needed for her to perform in the most important job in the world.
In utter contrast, Trump’s record and personal lack of integrity make his candidacy an embarrassment which really trashes his MAGA GOP’s reputation forever. The members of the pre-Trump GOP will need to form a new party to eliminate the shame of what Trump has engendered.
His full humongous record of treasonous, illegal and punitive behavior need not be recited again here.
Now for the sprint to the big test on November 5th! Great excitement and enthusiasm over the candidacy of Kamala Harris gives new life to comparing her with Trump and his VP choice JD Vance.

Trump and JD Vance, both have widely conflicting views with Harris. But the key here is understanding their false attempts to describe her as an extreme leftist, when her views on choice, climate crisis, or any public policy issue you can name she is where most Americans are!
Trump and his policies are on the extreme right not Harris or Democrats as he ignores climate change, wants more use of fossil fuel, promises to deport millions of immigrants, blocking gun law reform, restricting voting rights, and promising retribution on enemies freshly enabled by the corrupt Supreme Court’s immunity ruling.
Back to women’s equality, which now gets the ultimate test in the 2024 election, the most important in the history of our country.
The misogynistic attacks on Harris by Trump and his allies add to their constant racism against all minorities!
Trump suggests Harris would struggle with world leaders based on her appearance https://t.co/IOThCBbMi8 whereas his "appearance" of course would have world leaders swoon in awed submission

How could anyone believe his constant lies about the 2020 election or tolerate his personal behavior to support his candidacy??
Another of Trump’s hobby horse campaign lies in immigration which ignores the fact that immigration at our border is substantially down.
This comes, despite his decision to tell his GOP today House Speaker Mike Johnson to have the bi-partisan Senate immigration bill blocked, so he could use it as a campaign issue instead of taking a meaningful first step toward real reform after decades of bi-partisan inaction!
Now is the time to send this scumbag into the real world where he is literally facing monetary and legal payment for his crimes by electing Kamala Harris our first woman President! The surge of enthusiasm for her as more and more voters compare her with Trump should bring victory in November!
I’d pay good money to have this guy introduce Trump at ALL of his campaign events.
