Trump’s sustained criminality skips his GOP’s recognition!

In multiple recent pieces, I have given repeated reference to the May 1 speech which Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut gave a list of the criminal examples of Trump’s corruption in office.

I will not repeat that powerful recitation of corruption here, but I will mention two absolutely comprehensive articles which provide more examples which were written by Dana Millbank on May 9th and on May 18 in the Washington Post.

The May 9 piece entitled “As the world goes to hell Trump is living his best life”

Just one of many illegal examples in both articles

When Trump actually announced his trade deal with Britain Thursday from the Oval Office, it wasn’t quite as sensational as advertised: It turned out to be just the outline of a deal, and “final details are being written up in the coming weeks.” The British ambassador said it was “just the end of the beginning,” and a reporter for Britain’s Sky News asked whether Trump was “overstating the reach and significance of this deal.”

Still, Trump did use the occasion to highlight what for him is the most important subject: his own business interests. “We have a lot of investment over there,” he said, speaking not for the United States but for the Trump Organization and its golf properties. “We have Turnberry, Aberdeen. We have, as you know, Doonbeg in Ireland, right on the ocean. They’re all on the ocean. I only have interest if they’re on the ocean. And we have, we have good investments over there, beautiful.” He even recounted how Sean Connery helped him win zoning approval for a golf course.

So this is why Britain went to the top of the trade-deal waiting list? It was just the latest reminder, as if we needed one, that Trump has no permanent alliances, only personal financial interests.

Obvious are his policy failures with his tariffs, threatened inflation, solutions to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

The second article of May 18 entitled “This is what happens when the president is morally lost” beautifully articulates the worst of the worst in such articulate detail that Milbank’s impeccable case for Trump’s conviction and incarceration could not be made more clearly.

Trump’s racist immigration views were well articulated here when Milbank said,

The Trump administration showed the world its true colors this week. Or, more accurately, its true color.

The president has halted the admission of refugees, including those who helped the U.S. military in Afghanistan and those fleeing war in Sudan and Congo. But he has made one exception: White South Africans.

“It is such an honor for us to receive you here today,” Christopher Landau, the No. 2 official in the State Department, told a group of 59 of these relatively wealthy migrants after they touched down at Dulles this week. He told the Afrikaners — the descendants of Europeans who ruled South Africa during apartheid — that “we respect the long tradition of your people and what you have accomplished over the years” and said of them: “When you have quality seeds, you can put them in foreign soil and they will blossom, they will bloom.”

The “quality seeds” phrase was straight out of the language of the eugenics movement — “Only healthy seed must be sown!” — from before the Second World War. Landau told reporters that Trump granted Afrikaners the exception because they had faced “egregious persecution on the basis of race.” Asked for examples, he responded with generalities, saying they “face the threat not only of expropriation but also of direct violence.” Trump himself claimed this week that the Afrikaners are victims of “genocide.”

“If you ain’t white can it ever be right”–a question to ask Trump?

As we see the systematic dismantling of our government with no response from the elected GOP representatives, we are likely to see the passage of “one beautiful big Bill“ and the continuance of a firing of our most talented Federal employees so that any impropriety can either be dismissed or ignored or blamed on Biden by the President and his administration.

After years of identifying Trump’s treasonous and illegal behavior in my writing, I am almost to the point of stopping writing because of the absence of any reaction by the GOP Congressional and toady Administration and media people like Scott Jennings who never see any harm in Trump and blame Biden (some of whose errors I admit) who not only understand perfectly what Trump is doing, but are morally unwilling to call him out and take the necessary action to stop this historically dangerous destruction of our democracy.

Will Trump take aim at a third term as Steve Bannon predicts? I am not at all convinced that he won’t except perhaps his age, as in the case of Biden, which was improperly kept from exposure, but I am not counting on that as the principal basis for stopping such an event.

His destruction of so many of our cultural icons got notice from Bruce Springsteen “who doubles down after Trump calls him ‘dried out prune’” on May 18th in a USA Today piece by Chris Jordan!

Bruce Springsteen didn’t back down.

The Boss reinforced his remarks about President Donald Trump at the E Street Band’s May 17 show at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England − a line of criticism that previously prompted Trump to call Springsteen a “dried out prune.”

“My home America, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” said Springsteen to cheers as he took the stage, echoing what he said at the tour’s opening show on May 14 at the same venue. “This is ‘Land of Hope and Dreams.’ ”

“Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American spirit to rise with us, raise your voices and stand with us against authoritarianism and let freedom ring,” said Springsteen, according to a livestream of the show.

Trump’s use of name-calling is well known but far less dangerous than his main tool for gaining his GOP tyranny: FEAR, which basically proved a major element in his ascendence!! Springsteen’s guts should encourage the quiescent GOP, but it likely won’t!

Let’s hope voters of all persuasions can awaken soon.
