On two previous occasions on this website, I offered a specific suggestion.
On June 10, Vice President JD Vance said that the war could end in a week or perhaps in months.
How to end the Iran war? Stop being stupid about Iran having a bomb! https://t.co/k6NB6aYSIq via @ChurchAndStateN

Why not simply tell the Iranians it’s OK to have a nuclear weapon if they will open the Strait of Hormuz?!
So easy, only this time Iran will be asking for reparations, which will include release of billions of their funds that have been held out of their reach for years. A reasonable request, considering the amount of damage that Trump’s initialing his unprovoked attack on Iran accomplished.
The New York Times has reported on Trump’s original position on Iran which of course is totally different then the actions he has taken in starting this war.
“A timeline of Trump statements about the Iraq war, before and after it started, from September 2002 to December 2003.”

Also, now the Iranians may require some kind of payment to allow ships to go through, which hopefully can be negotiated down to a minimum.
The US has fallen into previous international war stupidities that have been perpetrated by our government in places like Cuba and Vietnam, which I visited twice in the early 90s and found Vietnam to be thriving after our vicious attacks in the 60s and 70s. Vietnam was our first major military loss but now we have accomplish another in Iran.
I am sure Mr. President can present this as a slight change from unconditional surrender in a way that will be more politically palatable but really it’s also very sensible for as we know Kim in North Korea has had a nuclear weapon since 2006 and I feel pretty confident, he would not be anxious to change his happy status as supreme leader, with a luxurious lifestyle and power position he enjoys, which, of course would be destroyed if he initiated a nuclear attack on the world.
Of course, Iran, in making this financially advantageous deal, would have new cash flow from its oil sales and from its impounded $300 billion International funds to repair its damaged infrastructure.
Hi Ho, Mr. President, you keep screwing up and getting away with it since the gutless GOP has decided you can do anything you wish even though a few of your elected members have murmured complaints. However, they are getting less deaf as they go home to face voters who are very angry.
