As the war with Iran seems to offer no satisfactory exit for Trump, we have recently read that the Iranians had laid careful plans to assassinate him! That possibility seems very remote.
Israel shared new intelligence with the U.S. that it said indicated a fresh Iranian plan to kill President Trump, people familiar with the matter said, a finding that would mark an escalation in the war between Washington and Iran.
Iran for years has vowed openly to retaliate against Trump for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, who was a top general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in the president’s first term.
The Israeli Embassy in Washington declined to comment. Iran’s Mission to the United Nations didn’t respond to a request for comment. The White House referred The Wall Street Journal to comments the president made on Wednesday.
Trump on Wednesday alluded to threats to his life when speaking to reporters in Ankara, Turkey.
“They want to take out the U.S. leader—me,” he said. “I’m on every list. I saw this morning, I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long.

It’s my opinion that if an assassination of Trump was successful it would be a very bad thing for the Democrats and the entire country.
We should pray for him to survive until at least the midterms and possibly even until 2028.
First, of course, this would immediately put JD Vance in office as president and we have no idea what he might decide to do, but it’s likely that he would take the advice of others and perhaps would make changes that would make the failed GOP look very much better in 2028.
Vance would still have the apparently unsolvable problem of getting the Strait of Hormuz freely open.
Of course, we are all hoping for an end and since Vance might encourage the necessary compromises, but of dismantling Iranian nuclear hopes that seems unlikely.
Vance as president could make moves to recover from the Trump years, but I am guessing Vance would not lessen focus on such Trump issues as immigration or continuing to undermine our voting system, despite the fact there is no proof of voting irregularities.
Also, Vance is a handsome young candidate versus old Trump who’s rambling, almost incoherent pronouncements, are totally focused on his own interest, and the fact that he seems to be ignoring, not only the GOP, but also American citizens, including his faithful MAGAs!
And of course, if Trump lives to finish his second term at some point retribution against him and his family will occur as the stealing continues from us taxpayers, setting up decisive arguments for Democrats in 2028.
Vance was against starting the Iranian war and would be very careful about continuing the ICE quotas of deporting 2000 immigrants a month, which have not been anywhere near achieved.

As the failure to meet, quotas ensued, it has caused the present storm trooper ICE to intimidate, legal and illegal immigrants and the general public and cause the killing of innocent protesters or even those immigrants here illegally with no criminal records.
Trump‘s current efforts to undermine the right to vote in various underhanded ways are worrisome, but may very well backfire!
Earlier I predicted that Trump would be out of office by November 3.
Now I can only hope that I was incorrect, since the Iranian war, the failure to release the Epstein files, and the growing anger about prices indicate that the midterm election will prove to be a disaster for the GOP, possibly restricting Trump‘s chances to further destroy our democracy until 2028.
