Trump’s central argument about the midterm election is that there is much fraud in US elections caused by illegal immigrant voting.
First of all, that’s a major criminal offense if any illegals do that. Moreover, every State Attorney General in the US could prove that the amount of such voting in their past elections is negligible. In short, Trump claims a problem where no problem exists.
Even the Heritage Foundation whose plan for Trump‘s second term was a path to authoritarianism can only show that for decades, the amount of voter fraud was insignificant.
Now, his executive order stating the US Postal Service would refuse to deliver mail ballots for states that do not submit voter lists through a federal online portal or fail to get envelope designs approved will go to the Supreme Court, which is famous for its worst decisions. Remember from the Civil War the Dred Scott horses or in 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson on “separate but equal” schools for black and white children decision?
SCOTUS has managed two major human rights decisions in Trump’s terms, killing LBJ’s 1964 Civil Rights Act and Roe in 2022.
The Brennan center tells the full story debunking the voter fraud myths. You can read the entire article here.

Of course, we can fully remember the battle over Red Republican states gerrymandering their voting districts in order to cut out minority voters which was countered with the Democrat gerrymandering in California and other Blue states to restore some balance to the chance for Trump to steal enough votes to win the election.

Then of course we can be aware about the huge differential in spinning by Republicans in red states and blue the ability for billionaires to give as much money as they wished thanks to the Citizens United act of 2010.
The anger which so many voters of both parties and the independents have about Trump’s war with Iran plus his failure to fulfill his promises of affordability and his very errant behavior about his Eastwing ballroom, his reflecting pool fiasco, his Kennedy Center attacks, and his new Arc de Triomphe.
Now he is apparently focusing on destroying the Smithsonian Institution which is one of our greatest treasures as he attempts to rewrite American history by leaving out negative facts.
NY Times headline—“Inside Trump’s Ideological Fight With the Smithsonian
Publicly and behind the scenes, the president continues to try to impose his own views of American history and culture, presenting an ongoing challenge to Lonnie Bunch, the institution’s leader.”

When I speculated in my last book that Trump would be out by the midterms, I really couldn’t imagine that the case for so doing and the likelihood that his major power would be vastly eroded by now. And his meandering crazy statements made daily certainly foretell that the midterm elections will not be in the GOP’s favor.
Then add failure to release the Jeffery Epstein files and the stove $2 billion as president.
