The utterly spineless GOP elected officials abetted by the Supreme Court gave Trump immunity against any crimes committed while in office make any prediction still very much up in the air as the midterms approach.
In my last book I had predicted that Trump would be out of office by the midterms, but that opinion was obviously based on hopes over obvious improbability.
Trump will be gone before November 3, 2026!!

However, how could anyone know–except possibly Benjamin Netanyahu–that Trump would be plunging us into the Iran War which we will not be out soon. By 2028? Will Trump remain in office that long?
Of course, both parties failed to take Trump out of office after he instigated a coup attempt on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
That treasonous action stands significantly higher than any of the other multiple crimes he has committed in both terms of office against our democracy and our Constitution.
Having said that, I remain committed to the idea that he will ultimately pay some price and if not him his family will pay a stiff price for this Crime Family’s corruption in earning billions of dollars using his Presidency.
I will not bother to list his inanities since they are daily repeated and added to as he raises 50% tariffs –at before he TACOs on Canada’s exports and keeps dismantling our reputation around the world with his inept management while he focuses on the DC reflecting pool, his ballroom in the White House and his desire to have his name restored to the Kennedy Center despite the fact that he wants to close it down and destroy it and Trump as Chairman might illegally try to.
Perhaps one of the most bizarre twists in trump’s behavior is with Natalie Harp.
The 8/18/26 NYT’s headline:‘With All My Heart, Natalie.’ Trump’s Most Devoted Aide Emerges.
She is Natalie Harp, the 35-year-old West Wing aide who is the utmost gatekeeper to President Trump, a one-woman conduit of information operating entirely outside the usual chain of command. The public’s interest in Ms. Harp exploded after she was revealed last week to be one of the lucky few who joined the president inside an airplane catering container to be whisked out of Turkey under threat of attack by Iran.
This week she became the subject of a political attack line delivered by Jon Ossoff, the Democratic senator from Georgia, who said of the president: “He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

As the poles go down on Trump and it becomes very possible that he could lose both houses of Congress, the question posed at the beginning of this piece seems to be not quite as fanciful as my prediction about trump being out of office before the midterms.
I have changed my mind about having Trump out as I think if Vance were President, he is far more subject to control and manipulation by the evil crew still present as his Cabinet and some billionaires who have actually been pushing for the end of our democracy so they could control it all.
It remains entirely possible that the 67 votes needed in a Senate trial ousts Trump.
