Has Donald Trump now created his intended dictatorship? Our next move?

I don’t know about you, but I awakened on Saturday morning January 24th to find out another shooting occurred in Minneapolis.

As with the murder have Renee Nicole Good the murder of Alex Pretti was clearly documented by video that proved the ICE agents had killed a man who had no intention of attacking anyone, but did have a proper carrying license for his revolver, which was not in his hand at the time the agents delivered 10 shots to direction.

The Trump administration again tried to claim a scenario which did not align with what we saw with our own eyes as you can read here:

When Donald Trump visited the Journal in October 2024, he was asked how he’d implement his mass deportation policy to avoid appearing to be cruel and inviting a political backlash.

His answer was surprisingly nuanced. He said he had to deport illegal migrants because “we can’t handle these people coming in right now. But the interest from the heart, yeah, something’s got to be done. I’m not going to do that [separate families]. I can’t do that. Okay, thank you. Really good question. I mean, there’s some human questions that get in the way of being perfect, and we have to have the heart, too. Okay?”

Fifteen months later in Minneapolis, there isn’t much heart in Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Saturday shooting of Alex Pretti, as he lay on the ground surrounded by ICE agents, is the worst incident to date in what is becoming a moral and political debacle for the Trump Presidency.

As the percentage of Americans who are finding Trump’s behavior in every respect reprehensible and deserving of punishment which should’ve been inflicted on this traitor after January 6, 2021, the frustration builds.

We are now reduced to being a one party system in the sense that the GOP has now joined so completely with Trump and the US Supreme Court and the control of the Congress to beat us on the brink of losing our democracy.

It will be hard to conceive how a list of actions that Trump could take before the midterm elections in November but surely the short list perpetrated in his first hundred days probably set a record on dangerous actions in our country history.

I won’t attempt to list them all, but certainly Invading Venezuela, delaying indefinitely the release of the Epstein files, Trump’s phony claim he planned to take over Greenland which called Iceland 4 times in one of his ranting speeches, and now is trying to use ICE to insight Minneapolis residents into responding to its attacks! That would allow him to incute the intervention act which was used in LA when two riots in 1964 and 1992 by blacks over civil rights caused huge turmoil.

This stands in sharp contrast what the citizens of Minneapolis who have shown admirable restraint despite Trump’s continuing efforts to rile them with murders and tear and pepper spray and illegal entry into private homes, etc.

Most seriously are his continuing attempts all over the country to undermine voting by gerry mandering and also closing voting places where voters could get more easily.

So what can a voters do at this point? We certainly will keep showing up and peacefully protesting as the brave people in Minneapolis have done in such an exemplary fashion despite having their citizens murdered by out of control by ICE Gestapo.

Does this remain our main avenue of choice? We are well aware that our major mass media organizations hasn’t stood up well enough for Trump’s illegal acts against the constitutional and laws because the big media is owned by billionaires.

With so many news sources available, major media outlets cannot fully hide the truth. Fortunately, The New York Times is still owned and run by its founding family.

We shall see what other privileges the US Supreme Court will grant Trump, already offering him unlimited immunity for his acts while in office.

Of course, on Monday in January 26th trump attempted to diverge again from the truth of what they’ve been doing by promising to send Tom Holman to Minneapolis to take over from DHS director.

If Trump handles this like all the other untruths in his performance, we cannot expect the situation to improve but we can always be helpful. However, press secretary Levitt in her press conference really didn’t offer me much hope and as you can see by reading the Washington Post story here.

Nobody in the White House, including President Trump, wants to see people getting hurt or killed in America’s streets,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday. “It is President Trump’s hope and wish and demand for the resistance and chaos to end today.”

She added, “The most peaceful way to carry out this vital public safety mission is for Republicans and Democrats to do it together, and for state and local law enforcement to work together with federal law enforcement.”

The Washington Post story continues by giving more background which you can read here.

The administration is trying to refocus the Minneapolis operation on what originally drew federal officers there: crimes committed by undocumented immigrants and fraudulent Medicaid claims. Trump on Sunday demanded that Minnesota officials and other Democratic governors and mayors assist federal law enforcement in arresting, detaining and deporting undocumented immigrants. Attorney General Pam Bondi asked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) to turn over Medicaid and voter records and repeal “sanctuary” policies that prohibit local cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) said he would propose legislation to ban such policies nationwide.

Walz disputed the administration’s claims about the state’s failure to cooperate in a Wall Street Journal op-ed Monday. He said the state holds 207 noncitizens in its prisons, not 1,360, and has never released someone without offering a transfer to federal custody.

Trump campaigned for a second term promising to launch a military-style deportation operation and encouraging police to use more force without restraint or fear of consequences. He promised to “indemnify” police from lawsuits, a slogan with little practical consequence since officers already have broad legal protections from liability, but one clearly signaling that they would not be held responsible for using force.

American citizens don’t awaken and do not respond overwhelmingly enough at the midterm elections, our democracy will be lost.
