Secular rights are under attack in the US and the fascists are using the pretense of offering freedom by putting a woman’s right to choose an abortion back to the states as occurred on June 24, 2022!
I am sure you understand that religious fascists are no different than any brand of fascism in wanting to impose their ideology against your human freedoms.
I predicted then and I expect now that the fascists who have taken over the GOP are not defeated in November 2024, or Donald Trump, the new Hitler, will be President. From the current polls showing Biden and Trump in a dead heat, we must never allow that horrendous result to happen.
That this slide away from the earlier GOP approval of choice began when Ronald Reagan, who when California Governor was pro-choice, was elected President in 1980.
It took time for the religious right to slide into Christian nationalism under Jerry Falwell and Robert Jefferies as initially they were more concerned about maintaining segregation, but that issue did not play well politically so they saw political power in being anti-choice and made ties with the right-wing Catholic Church.

The sad, vicious history about the long deeply infected Catholic Church with its unfrocked priesthood of sexual predators has now been well documented without assurance that that those conditions do not persist.
Despite Pope Paul’s talk against this cancer, a Massachusetts judge On August 30, found the now demented former Cardinal McCarrick was “unfit” to stand trial for a long history of youth abuse.

McCarrick’s church welcomed these right-wing Protestants to work together for almost 50 years until 2016 when they got a philandering fascist President who appointed 3 anti-choice Justices. They joined 3 sitting anti-choice Justices in killing Roe Casey after nearly 50 years of passable freedom of choice. Though Roe was far from fully free of defects, the national right to abortion was working and those that finally killed Roe will pay dearly politically as time passes.
Bottom line for the majority of Americans: No government interference in a woman’s right to an abortion. The attack slogan “late term abortion” was a lie used to justify and deny abortion for fatally damaged fetuses.

Most of those seeking and now achieving abortion restrictions in many states under the rubric of religious truth are not seeking their god of choice but rather their wish for fascist control of women’s ability to obtain equal political equity in a male dominated society.
The anti-women beliefs are also concentrated in Trump’s GOP further infected by spineless Republicans who stand by and let him take over.
This is why choice has become another avenue for exposing Trump’s real intentions for a fascist takeover.
Our founding fathers were mostly deists who believed that no god should interfere in the conduct of human affairs. Thus, the success of the right-wing cabal denies the entire supposition of secular democracy under which our government and our society has thrived.
This 2024 election will test that belief as never since the Civil War when freedom eradication of slavery was a goal which in terms of the elimination of racism still has a long way to go. Racism remains as as pernicious to fully attain as safe, inexpensive abortion, both national disgraces in a supposedly free nation.
