Trump’s Growing Authoritarianism Becomes More Obvious As Defrauded Voters Awaken!

As more and more voters realize how much Elon Musk and his destruction crew will affect their lives, it will also become more and more obvious that Trump will in this second term create a situation where our democracy has turned authoritarian.

The courts have temporarily put holds on some of the actions taken to date, but many likely will not hold.

We wait now to see if Trump’s gutless GOP Congress and the Senate majorities will continue to confirm all of Trump’s objectives, actions that will not be easily displaced before the midterm elections, which by then will make his changes almost impregnable.

Earlier in several op ed pieces, I have suggested that the only solution to stopping this new coup in progress must be Trump’s impeachment, indictment, and removal which can only occur if the few non-Trump elected GOP members of the Senate and House realize where we are going and are willing to stand up with the values that made this country, the best in the world.

Here is a quick summary of the roots to our decline: There still is a failure by most Americans to understand our empire like all empires before it was for decades becoming a declining world power with less and less ability to shape world events. Too many Americans care more about the Super Bowl results than their country.

Our post WWII Marshall Plan and subsequent USAID programs helped many nations thrive. The signs of our fall began in the 1970’s as more and more US companies realized their profits could be greatly enhanced by moving operations overseas to cheap labor; this closed countless long time US factories and laid off millions of working middle class voters. We saved many who now join the BRICS block which has more gross national product than the US and our allies.

We still didn’t get the message even after the fall of the USSR in 1990 which Gorbachev acknowledged to President Reagan on his historic visit to San Francisco which did not improve his popularity in Russia.

Shortly after returning home, he was thrown out by Yeltsin who gave away his government assets to the oligarchs and named Putin his successor.

This failure to grasp our true power in the world and the arrogance that allowed foreign adventures such as the Iraq invasion has a role in leading us to our present divisive political situation where after the passage of Citizens United in 2010 which allowed corporations to fully fund election campaigns, it was obvious that they would soon be running the government for their advantage, which has now produced Trump’s administration.

As the wealth gap grew to its present most dangerous level in our history we are now, as I have noted before, in a second Gilded Age.

The super rich now want to save their wealth and power so then it solidified into an attack on our poorest citizens which has now expanded to cover us all.

They are just beginning. As Trump and Musk and their super rich allies now control an unconscionable amount of our national wealth will make sure that they continue to take over such things as Social Security and Medicare from all of us.

Trump’s tariffs which he initially proposed for Canada and Mexico allegedly to stop the drug trade basically ignored the fact that this drug trade could only thrive in a market where such drugs were increasingly needed or perceived to be needed when the COVID crisis struck in 2019.

Now it would appear that too many of our citizens have been drugged by this false reason into believing Trump and his co-president Elon Musk.

Perhaps the most ironic and stupid cut in government employment so far involves the coming layoff of thousands of Internal Revenue employees. After now paying their fair share for years the oligarchs’ want more.

But of course firing Inspector Generals and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which saved consumers billions in unfair expenses marks two of too many to count idiocies purposefully put forward by the champion of the oligarchs Elon who brought his son named X to his interview with the acquiescent Trump in the Oval Office!

And of course, the killing of USAID will only make for more hostility among poor people who will be more inclined to join terrorist groups or seek help from the growing power of the 22 BRIC nations which include China and Russia.

America’s declining empire will go faster downward in Trump 2.0!
