A friend of mine, and I were discussing the innumerable instances where Trump is acting against the best interest of our democracy, while at the same time devising devious ways to feather, the nest of his family and his allies.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has said that the various ways in which Trump is seeking to avoid the emoluments clause of our constitution are OK because Trump is doing it so publicly.
Johnson’s reasoning has been accepted by his GOP colleagues in the house and apparently the chances exist that his efforts will succeed in getting a Trump’s “great big beautiful Bill” to the Senate for a passage.
This simply assures that the national debt will be augmented by Trees, and that no substantial reduction in that debt can occur until we step-by-step carefully analyze the functions of each department rather than using the chainsaw method which Elon Musk tried with
DOGE!
I keep listening to that speech made by Senator Chris Murphy on May 1 about the various ways that Trump has adopted corruption as his modus operandi!
