Trump’s LA troops symbolizes his tyrannical plans, but he’s had plenty of protesting practice!

Hey, this LA donnybrook shows Trump repeating what he had the ultimate practice in doing protesting when he attempted a coup to keep Biden from being inaugurated by attacking the Capitol on January 6, 2021. In that case he knew what was coming and did not get any troops to stop his dangerous assault on Congress and amazingly is still out of jail!

With his 79th birthday coming up on June 14 there is a huge military parade plan to celebrate the US Army’s 1775 anniversary, which we now learn will cost at least $25 million and more likely $45 million.

Now we learn that the National Guard, Marine deployment in Los Angeles will likely cost $134 million. Accommodations for these thousands of soldiers still need arranged as pictures of the National Guard troops sleeping together on the ground was run on TV.

Speaking of questionable spending decisions, we learn that Amazon is paying $40 million to license a documentary on Melania Trump, but at least that money does not come from taxpayers.

When we first read about the mobilization of the National Guard in Los Angeles in response to initially a largely peaceful protest—still being carried on a location only in a tiny part of the vast urban that is LA—which Governor Gavin Newsom and the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bas deemed unnecessary and only created more concern in a city that has been beset with wildfires and other disturbances this year.

Two of my children live in the LA area very removed from the protesters.

Trump purposely caused the expansion of the discord as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have picked up people thought to illegal aliens and put then under arrest pending immediate deportation. That our immigration laws needed enforcing I agree having served for years on the board of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and the failure to develop sensible legal law was deferred by both parties for decades, now allows Trump, a tyrannical demagogue, license to endanger millions without legal recourse, most working as paying citizens.

Now after local police and sheriffs brought the discord under control, we learn that the federalized National Guard will be staying for 60 days and costing millions for no purpose.

The authoritarian symbolism of this confrontation was repeatedly noted by Governor Newsom who had talked by phone recently with Trump but was not told of this invasion which should had come only with Newsom’s request for troops.

Newsom has sued the federal government for this legal failure which needs clarification as it never was before without a Governor’s approval.

Now Trump threatens to withhold billions of US Education Department funds for California schools.

To mobilize the National Guard, Trump invoked Title 10, Section 12406 of the U.S. Code, which allows for the federalization of the National Guard in cases of an invasion or a rebellion, or if the President is unable to execute the country’s laws with “regular forces.”

Section 12406, however, also states that “Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States.” Newsom confirmed that he did not request the deployment of the National Guard, making it the first time since 1965 that the National Guard has been activated to a state without a governor’s request.

Now it seems like a game of chicken between Trump and Gavin Newsom is likely to go on for months.

Trump’s hope seems to be that if enough violence has or will occur that will give credence to what is basically a tyrannical attempt to take over individual state rights and further promote his trend of governance toward an authoritarian state, ignoring that all persons have civil rights to have counsel and legal treatment as covered in our Constitution.

Trump in making this LA chaos unnecessary but effective to his MAGA audience has promised to do such invasions in many other cities around the nation.

Trump uses the standard ploy of tyrants to gain tyrannical control by creating any excuse however flimsy to send in troops!

The number of aliens in the United States is between 14 and 16 million, less than 5%. The apprehensions of criminal aliens.

Steven Miller, a key Trump immigration advisor in the White House has expressed the wish to make sure that all such immigrants are removed but so far the number of arrests and deportations are far below numbers desired.

Ironically, his own Jewish parents were Democrats who were immigrants.

Clearly, sensibility should prevail in connection with some categories of immigrants. For example. The children of ill illegal immigrants who are birth rights citizens, but presently not acknowledge as such.

In watching the protest on TV on June 9th at about 6 o’clock Pacific standard time you could can see for yourself for that the local police, including the sheriff’s office comprise a totally adequate containment of what the protesters are offering. There were a few people throwing bottles, but they certainly were unlike far more recant dangerous protests that did not require Trump’s National guard or the 700 US Marines.

The chaos that Trump tried to create, we can hope won’t work as well for him as it has for many dictators in the past who have used the same strategy.

Responsible agencies like the Federation for Immigration Reform have been arguing for a systematic method of handling an immigration. Both parties have for decades resisted reasonable ways to achieve reform, which is now become a political cudgel used by Trump to attack all aspects of our democratic government.

On June 14, as the Abrams tanks roll through Washington on Trump’s 79th birthday, creating damage to the roadways, Washington mayor Muriel Bowser raised concern.

These unprecedented events simply underline the intent of Trump to move relentlessly toward his intent to dismantle the democracy we have enjoyed since our founding.

This fascist symbolism is now well established, and we must hope that both parties will quickly align to realize that Trump should not be allowed to continue as president.
