Thomas Jefferson expressed his belief that circumstances could occur that would require citizens to rebel against an existing regime.

You can read his quite limited views here:

Thomas Jefferson viewed Shays’ Rebellion as a legitimate form of popular protest oppressive conditions and saw it as an important reflection of democratic values. He believed this uprising highlighted the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, prompting the need for a stronger federal government. Jefferson considered such rebellions essential for the health of a democracy, likening them to storms that refresh the political landscape.

Those heroes in our early Republic, despite the advice from Abigail Adams not to forget the ladies, the leadership was completely male dominated.

And now as we watch the increasing public power and visibility of women, we are horrified at the increasingly restrictive Trump curbs on their reproductive choices. There are a few shameless sell out women in his administration whose performance daily serve his purposes.

Hardest hit among women are black women as frighteningly disclosed and then August 30 New York Times story “In Trump’s Federal Work Force Cuts, Black Women Are Among the Hardest Hit.” President Trump has cut hundreds of thousands of jobs from the federal work force.

Here’s a high level example:

On a February afternoon, a security guard showed up to her office just as she was preparing to hold a staff meeting. Fifteen minutes later, the staff watched in tears and disbelief as she was escorted out of the building. When President Trump started dismantling federal agencies and dismissing rank-and-file civil servants, Peggy Carr, the chief statistician at the Education Department, immediately started to make a calculation.

She was the first Black person and the first woman to hold the prestigious post of commissioner of the National Center for Education Statistics. As a political appointee, she knew there was a risk of becoming a target.

But her 35-year career at the department spanned a half dozen administrations, including Mr. Trump’s first term, and she had earned the respect of officials from both parties. Surely, she thought, the office tasked with tracking the achievement of the nation’s students could not fall under the president’s definition of “divisive and harmful” or “woke.”

But for the first time in her career, Dr. Carr’s data points didn’t add up.

Massive screaming by all citizens is needed and it is not going to come from the male billionaires, but from a majority of ordinary citizens with articulation of Trump’s repression headed by all women!

They can be the improbable heroes who make Trump’s fall happen!

There is seldom an opportunity to make a decision that has enormous potential impact while at the same time places the person making such a decision and perhaps his family under threats that seem not worth taking.

In today’s Trump world there seems to be a substantial lack of both male and female courage on a part of legislators, and those who would serve this uniquely dangerous administration.

Now is the moment that one woman could make such a courageous decision that they would be fired, and perhaps the decision that she made would be ignored or dismissed.

However, in that brave person’s life doing the right thing instead of a gutless obedience to corruption would in the mind of such a decider, be a medal of honor which she and a majority of voters would applaud and history would celebrate.

The time for such courage has obviously come, and we are beginning to see more and more signs that an awakening of the circumstances has stiffen the backbone of many, or willing to resign, march or otherwise put themselves in danger and make certain that the scenario which the evil Trump has brought to America and is attempting to inflict on the world.

Trump is obviously dangerously unbalanced, but the horror of the situation is striking because so many of his associates are not as evil as he is, but simply afraid. His 2nd term actions have inflicted paralyzing fear on too many, likely, including me and my readers.

Can women be the heroes that bring Trump down? Only if enough show the kind of courage that a few have managed now as this will have to be a massive vote against the present criminality and unconstitutionality driving his powerful rise.
