On January 6, 2021 Trump’s political objective was his attempted coup by directing an attack on the US Capitol and by denying that he lost the 2020 election to Biden.
At that point Trump after on January 13, 2021 was impeached for his sedition by the US House for the 2nd time. He should then have been immediately indicted and removed from any future office by the Senate, but on February 23 Trump was not indicted. When senator Rand Paul forced a voted to dismiss the impeachment charge on the basis that it was unconstitutional to try a former president, arguing that impeachment only implies to current federal officers and that the punishment removal from office was moot under the circumstances. “The motion was defeated 55 to 45 with all Democrats and most independents and five senators voted against the motion. It was the first time a former president had been tried and only the second time the Senate tried someone who had already left office.”

Senator Mitch McConnell who voted not to indict him had earlier not allowed Obama to nominate a Supreme Court Justice call which later gave Trump the opportunity to appoint 3 obviously unqualified right wing justices which will influence actions by the court for decades.
So the above events set in place the trend that has led to the disastrous situation we encounter now in the United states.
Subsequently you could also inside the weakness of Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland for delaying too long in bringing charges against Trump for his taking away classified documents to Florida and for the whole business of attacking the orderly transition of the duly elected President.
These failures to indict and remove Trump then left the opportunity for this felon to run again and be elected again as president of the United states.
January 6th, the initial major unpunished Trump crime, allowed this dangerous felon as president of the United States to have gotten away with a crime that should put him in prison.

The events of January 6th, 2021, were not initially seen as a definitive blow to democracy and global stability, but our current understanding requires action.
It was his 2025 national security strategy released on December 4, 2025. You can read below the analysis by the Brookings Institution authored by a distinguished group of scholars. They are arguing that the policy entitled National Security Strategy if implemented would cause the disappearance of major power competition as the US takes a entirely different foreign policy priority.
The policy calls for a retreat from America’s traditional role as a major protector of freedom and peace through its NATO alliances which have kept authoritarian regimes such as China and Russia from extending their influence in Europe. Trump is accusing Europe of being weak and ineffective when in fact losing Europe would be disastrous to World Peace and freedom.
The core of trump’s policy is best expressed by a quote from onr of this Brookings Institution’s authors Mara Karlin which you can read here.
The Trump administration deserves credit for issuing a national security strategy that honestly reflects its priorities. Unlike Trump’s first NSS in 2017, which masqueraded as a traditional approach to national security and foreign policy—and therefore was discordant with the administration’s actual policies and actions—the 2025 version makes crystal clear how the White House views the world.
The Western Hemisphere is the priority region and, in line with that, immigration is elevated to the major national security concern. The threat posed by China is viewed almost entirely through an economic lens; the most formidable state military threat to the United States since the end of the Cold War is barely mentioned. While there is some traditional language on Europe’s need to invest militarily and to stem overregulation, the real story is how the NSS targets Europe for allegedly losing its identity, another opportunity to highlight what is perceived as the threat posed by immigration. More broadly, America’s allies and partners—representing a network unparalleled by any other major power in world history—are seen as a net burden and judged wholly on how much money they spend on defense. Given these priorities, the U.S. military will focus largely on the Western Hemisphere, play a small role in Asia, and is mainly addressed in economic terms.
Having worked on the 2014 and 2022 National Security Strategies, I’ve found that these documents are often useful in outlining an administration’s theory of the case and, unlike national defense strategies, struggle to give resource guidance to departments or agencies. While its substance is noteworthy—a full-scale repudiation of America’s approach to the international community over the last 80 years or so—its inability to shape budgets is less so. In this way, the 2025 NSS is no exception.

Clearly, the second strike on the alleged drug boat in the Caribbean was clearly a war crime, but obviously is minor compared to traitorous overall future this latest Trump policy plan proposes.
From January 6th to now Trump’s accumulation of unconstitutional acts designed to destroy our democracy and undermine the stability that NATO has given the world for decades needs to be corrected in an urgent fashion.
His blatant use of the office of President to accumulate personal wealth may be acknowledged along with his felonious connections to Jeffery Epstein, but likely not soon enough.
This means clearly that the GOP elected officials should understand that we are talking about a dictatorship about to be concluded at the risk of destroying America’s primary role in the world
Many in the GOP in Congress, do understand that the US has kept the peace for decades.
And now, however, to avoid Putin‘s continuing attack on our NATO allies in Europe, we are also talking about the need to make clear that the other large dictatorships, China and other lesser dictatorships that we will stand against what Putin has brought to Ukraine.
which can ‘t happen without US help will doubtless continue to threaten Europe as these other dictator ships see their is he their power increased by the Russian attacks.
This new second strike policy initiative by Trump’s 2025 National Security Strategy proposal has created the potential for the crisis described above so that the only priority left for American voters is to make sure in the midterms that Democrats win both the Senate and the house.
If enough mid-term votes are secured, Trump could be impeached and indicted for alleged crimes against the country.
Of course, his declining health and mental madness might very well take him out even if we cannot do what we should have done after January 6th 2021.
