It took the famous night club chanteuse and entertainer Texas Guinan some time to finally find her best place to perform. Turned out to be a series of illegal speakeasies in NYC in the late 1920’s and early 30’s at the height of the Roaring Twenties, where she greeted her customers by hooting “Hello Suckers” and charging her intoxicated wildly celebrating patrons in her often raided speakeasies the equivalent of $400 in today’s dollars for their $25 bottles of scotch and $32 for $2 glasses of water.
You can read about her here.
Reminded me of those who have allowed ex-President Trump to take over the GOP, except now a lot of them are seeing they’ve been played for suckers.
Speaking of $400 bottles of scotch, we should not fail to mention the use of Trump Organization assets such as its DC hotel for President Trump’s functions.
Holders of high political office, as I recall, generally have put their personal assets in trusts which were managed by independent trustees.
What did members of the party of Lincoln get by backing him?
Long term labels as racists?
Being stupid marks as non-vaccinated rubes?
Being anti democracy like King Donald?
Being for blocking voting for eligible US citizens?
The list is longer but let me absolve my many wise and moderate friends in Texas who against their will have been saddled with a GOP Governor who is carbon copy of Trump.
My friends there from both parties have long gotten the message. Now many of Trump’s supporters may begin to see the futility of vote blocking against a rising demographic tide which will make difficult the GOP’s chance of winning future national elections.
The median age for the U.S. Black population is 32, though it varies across the differing identities among the Black population. Among Black Hispanic people, it is 22. Meanwhile, multiracial Black people are the youngest group, with a median age of 16. 4/ https://t.co/xcHBCDCh67 pic.twitter.com/mJuxPFhPiW

Just as the end of prohibition ended Guinan’s speakeasies, the overwhelming gaffes and blatant immorality of the Trump GOP have now been fully documented.
Like not getting vaccinated, even most of those 100 million who have not yet gotten their shots, they will soon opt for avoiding death, just as the majority of Americans will see Trump’s undermining of our precious democracy as a death they will vote against!
So “Hello Suckers” you’ve gotten lucky. There’s time to listen to the testimony of our brave Capitol police officers as they faced those so called “tourist” insurrectionists.
Some top GOP leader’s didn’t even bother to listen to them, while others offered excuses such those Proud Boy types were unarmed.
Is it time to try to heed the timeless hopes of Corinthians 13 as opposed to saluting the hate mongers who have so politically divided us as they disgraced and dishonored themselves?
Have I told you before that Trump will soon be coming down?
No, I haven’t been invited to Mar-a-Lago.
