Our efforts to vaccinate our own citizens have failed to reach nearly 90 million people who got caught up in Trump’s 2020 intense ignorance campaign designed to win him re-election. They are still out there and still apparently confused.
Corporate America certainly is not confused as Delta Airlines and countless other corporate leaders brought down the financial hammer for financial reasons to keep their viability growing as the government’s cash infused high in the stock market makes like the Roaring Twenties.
That Roaring Twenties era morphed into depression, Hitler and a post WWII world of great American prosperity but also one of deep world discord driven by great power induced tragedies like the Cold War and tragic bad policies like Afghanistan.
“History never repeats itself, but it does often rhyme”, is an aphorism often attributed to Mark Twain but disputed.
You can read about that dispute here.
The Trump post Presidency’s continuing efforts to retain power frequently to many observers (such as the authors of “I Alone Can Fix It”) echoes Hitler’s model strategy of his massive continuing lies, his efforts to undermine citizens’ beliefs in their institutions such as government and its mainstream media (Fake News and Make America Great Again) as a route to a new form of dictatorial power.

Trump takes on Pence, McConnell, Barr. Claims he’d beat Washington-Lincoln ticket. Still spreads conspiracies. Plus Laura Ingraham cameo.https://t.co/B5ynf79rli

In watching on WETA on August 28th of a PBS rerun of how Jews were the inspiration for Broadway’s wonderful musicals and Hollywood films, I really enjoyed this great program which you can read about here.
Their amazing Broadway and film productions, many by Jews who fled Hitler’s Germany, as well as Jewish Americans who felt our own prevailing Jewish racism, still they helped offer all Americans images of what we could be or should be by using American themes until it became possible after Oklahoma and many others to do Fiddler On The Roof and other non-American settings.
I noted that Mel Brooks regarded his greatest artistic satisfaction for getting even with Hitler (even if not possible) was his 1967 smash hit movie “The Producers” with its headliner song, “Springtime For Hitler In Germany”. We got such imagination and talent from so many Jews including Brooks. His bio here.
Would that someone clever person write a similar historical echo in time for the Midterms about the buffoonish Donald, who even as his treasonous record is laid bare for all to see, remains credible to perhaps 30 percent of our electorate.
Now some his acolytes, 2 notably the Governors of Texas and Florida are seeing the Delta price being paid by their citizens. For example, 90 plus percent of the unvaccinated now dying at over 200 daily in Florida.
Killing off your base ain’t too bright, but then brightness is not a quality attributed to dim bulbs!
Mel, you are now only 95, how about an April Broadway show or another film like The Producers in time for the Midterms? “Springtime for Trumpy in infirmity?”
