The precious tri-pod of the three vital legs upon which our democratic government depends is now badly compromised by the invidious attacks by ex-President Trump and his weak, compliant and irresponsible GOP confederates.
First, even with the post January 6th Trump lies about election fraud and his huge original hyping that caused the attack on the Capitol, control of the GOP has succumbed to Trump and his acolytes. So the GOP representatives in the House and Senate are not governing but rather are resorting to blocking anything constructive by the Democratic majority. Read here as the Trump lying about voter fraud continues:
Note that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy does not want the House Commission on January 6th to have access to any evidence of misconduct. Read about his threat here.
Republican Liz Chaney’s appointment as Vice Chair of the House Commission helps but Minority Senate leader Mitch McConnell’s failure to back a full bi-partisan Commission reeks of an attempted GOP coverup.
From Mar-a-Lago Trump keeps up his Hitler style drumbeats of lies. Here another example.

Now as the odious result of his packing the Supreme Court with religious zealots, the Court seems clearly focused on killing Roe.
Earlier Justices such as Anthony Kennedy, a Catholic like Joe Biden, came to recognize the enormity of the anti-Roe position.
That Biden has come full circle to understate the inhumanity of being against medical safety and health for so many women can be read about here.
On many occasions, Justice Kennedy was the swing vote (5-4) against ideological impropriety. You can read about that here.
Would that this retired Justice, Anthony Kennedy, might decide to speak out now about his POV on Roe.
After failing to do it duty in stopping to odious Texas abortion from going into effect, these 5 right justices on Trump’s ideologically packed court said “wait, women of America until we tell you what you can do with your body”.
After 48 years of freedom under Roe with safe, mostly early abortions in excellent clinics all over the US, the specter of back alley coat hanger endangerment looms.
Obviously, no law now will stop abortions, only the freedom to have one safely, conveniently, and priced reasonably.
So fixated on their ideology that no reasonable argument can reach them, these were unjust justices, ironically picked for totally political purposes by a person likely to have been asked to pay for this service for someone in his well-publicized romps through many amours.
You can read about their ideological lunacy here.
48 years and now this mean, uncaring minority opinion of American voters is riding herd on the three quarters of American voters who wish to keep Roe. You can read the facts here.
Basic health care includes safe, legal abortion. The Texas abortion ban is an unconstitutional attack on reproductive rights—an attack happening all across America. Let’s be very clear: We’re going to fight this ban and defend #RoeVWade.https://t.co/DVZazBPlFg

The majority of American’s wishes on Roe and many other key priorities are under pressure.
For example, this applies also to the GOP’s attempts to restrict voting rights for minorities.
Okay the growing stink of the Trump era continues. The ball is in your court, Folks. Only your vote against the continuing destruction of our democracy at the midterms can help deflect to ominous tide of neo-fascist and/or religiously dominated governance being offered by 2 of our 3 main branches of government.
