The 12/19 Washington Post story detailing the rush of many GOP candidates to Mar-a-Lago to kiss Trump’s ring suggests the need to keep a little list.
Remember what young children of my generation were told as Christmas approached?
Yes, that Santa Claus warning song which you may have sung here.
Some have thought that Santa song sounded a bit creepy. Read here.
Anyway, you might want to keep a little list of those Republicans rushing to Trump on Florida, as that may not be the wisest positive thing to do. But here they come; read here.
The Washington Post identified at least 30 events held by GOP candidates or conservative groups at Trump properties through mid-December of this year, more tallied than in any previous year https://t.co/FLTxVhofg8

Why? As my last Op Ed postulated, Trump seems now to have attacked everyone, which in his maniacal way was what brought Senator Joe McCarthy down in 1954.
Does Trump have no more groups to attack or no more incredible lies to tell? Doubtful, but while many see Trump as a powerful future force in the GOP I have had for some time many questions.
Does our democracy matter to a sufficient number of Americans to question the madness of supporting this miscreant as a future power center?
Do Trump’s dull bulb supporters, who have eschewed COVID shots and now make up 90 percent of those in hospitals dying, finally get the message?
Is it bright not wearing masks and ignoring Dr Fauci’s advice to get that booster?
Well, what I found most interesting were the statements of that paragon of political craftiness, Senator Mitch McConnell, who certainly has hopes to be the Senate Majority Leader again after the 2022 midterms, who now seems to be saying, despite all his earlier comments, that he awaits the findings of the House Commission on January 6th. That defies all his previous positions, including his blocking a full congressional commission of January 6th, despite the earlier bi-partisan (and successful) commissions on Watergate and 911.
You can read those speculations to his brief comments here.
Analysis: Mitch McConnell is suddenly legitimizing the Jan. 6 committee. But why? https://t.co/kLxomlyceq

So, Santa Claus, I may no longer believe in you, but I bet enough grownups will soon stop believing in the Trump mantra about the fraudulent election as the flood of facts about that and his other lies leads Senator McConnell to his apparent canny conclusion that Trump is losing his believers. If the facts about Mark Meadows’ central clearing house role in the assault leads even more to Trump, McConnell may feel able to claim he so warned his colleagues by intimation.
The ultimate irony of course is the fact that one source of Santa’s origin came from an alleged Saint Nicholas who you can learn about here.
Biden ain’t a saint but he’s not Trump, he’s not a crook, he’s competent and although he didn’t get Manchin to be a patriot about our future, his many accomplishments to date are not small factors!
Happy Holidays.
West Virginia is the second poorest state in the United States.
But sure, Manchin. Vote “No” to the BBB Act. https://t.co/YBXbHRBUjh
