Pence on January 4th stated strongly that Donald Trump was wrong when he pressured Pence to not count the Electoral votes and throw the process to the states.

But he went much farther saying no one man should determine the Presidency. Read here.

Of course Trump had earlier attacked Pence multiple times for not overturning the Electoral vote process, but Pence finally couldn’t just say it was a simple disagreement.

Has the faithful Pence finally rebelled, and does he know how deep the pain to the GOP is going to get?

Not only his statement, but now Pence’s key aides are appearing before the House Commission on January 6 and not taking the 5th, like the Trump allies who come as the result of being subpoenaed.

Trump’s blatant role in planning the stopping of Biden’s taking office, offers clear evidence of his principal felony. We now know his strategy began with his realization as the pandemic accelerated that he was going to lose on November 3rd. Then he started taking about election fraud as very likely.

He obviously then perpetrated the extensive buildup to January 6th. Then at the Capitol insurrection, Trump’s implied warning embraced a call for violence when he said, “or you won’t have a country anymore”. He clearly is planning another insurrection if the Republican legislatures new voting laws to hinder minority voting don’t let him win legally.

What did Trump do after losing his insurrection plan? Just what he has always done: Lie and bamboozle. Only this time he held for a short time the most powerful political office in the USA and the free world, but of course, Chi must be the MOST powerful with his dictatorial power, of which Trump no doubt is envious.

Planning this insurrection thus became the key for Trump, who then drew to his bosom those he knew were capable of committing any crime so long as the money and/or prospect of more power is possible. Who are they? Shall we start with the list of those already subpoenaed?

Trump’s apparent self-admissions of actions taken so far will, after publication of the House January 6th report, at a minimum require a serious review by the Justice Department, likely leading to indictments. This time there won’t be the Presidential pardon option.

Will that derail the Trump 2024 Presidential express? Has Pence precipitated a derailment?

When will these spineless GOP Congress members trade in their obeisance to a potential jailbird for the guy who will surely paint himself and the hero of January 6th or will it be a Governor like Youngkin who would bring in a Trumpian agenda?

The smell swells even as Trump’s lying has become SOP as his track to retaining control of the GOP and has to date been facilitated by a huge fund-raising success.

Can you attack without consequence everyone who calls you out and get away with it. Trump’s calling longtime ally SC Senator Lindsey Graham a RINO after years of help from the Senator including help in Trump’s election and even after January 6th, won’t win Trump the loyalty award of the year.

More satisfying than money or the slavish adoration he gets from his MAGA rallies to his manic ego may be the prospect of Trump resuming his rides in Air Force One and the chance to continue to destroy our democracy.

If that prospect doesn’t scare enough of voters that’s exactly what we will get!
