Two brilliant letters to the editor of the 11/20/24 Washington Post rang a loud bell for action.
The publicity Trump is generating with his highly dangerous transition appointments gives Biden a unique moment for resigning which would give America its first female President!!
"This is the most disastrous spectacle that we've seen…certainly in modern political history. You have these freaks and weirdos and sexual predators who are in important positions." —@StuartPStevens discussing Trump's cabinet appointments on MSNBC yesterday. pic.twitter.com/vWIFEqLB4Y

Biden’s ego in running again in 2024 ruined Democrats’ opportunity to find another younger candidate, but he would leave now burnishing his legacy as historians will find his one term very successful.
So rather than paraphrase, just read these two letters and tell me why you agree or disagree.
Opinions | Biden’s presidency isn’t over yet. This is what he should do. He has already unleashed Ukraine to go into Russian targets.

President Joe Biden should resign within the last months of his presidency. By doing so, he could accomplish more than he would by remaining in office.
First, it would make Vice President Kamala Harris president. She would not be president for very long, nor would she be able to accomplish very much, but she would make history in her short term. Mr. Biden could remain as her senior adviser. She probably wouldn’t do anything Mr. Biden wouldn’t do. And Mr. Biden wouldn’t have to attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, which he might be reluctant to do.
Second, Mr. Biden would have several reasons for resigning. He could say his resignation is a protest of the decision to elect Mr. Trump to another term. He could use it as a platform to explain why this is a major mistake. He could even say that Ms. Harris deserved to be president because of her hard work, and his resignation would be like giving her a consolation present for her service to her country.
Third, we might never see a woman elected president of this country. No one will admit they voted against Ms. Harris because of her race or gender, but those might have been factors. So, this could be our last chance to ever see a woman become president. It’s totally up to Mr. Biden. He helped her become vice president. He helped her become the party nominee. So, why not help her one more time and make history.

Break the glass ceiling
We have seen how outrageous behavior has resulted in a winning strategy for liar, felon and President-elect Donald Trump. But there is something President Joe Biden can do that might be equally outrageous yet very beneficial.
Imagine this: Mr. Biden resigns, which enables Vice President Kamala Harris to become the first female president (if only for two months). The glass ceiling would officially be broken. A positive precedent would be set.
This would also give Ms. Harris the opportunity to demonstrate some of her capabilities as president. For example, she could allow Ukraine to destroy Russian staging areas since Mr. Trump might try to force Ukraine to surrender. She could encourage Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-New York) to fast-track the nomination and approval of more than 100 federal judges before the Republicans control the Senate. She could allocate discretionary funds to organizations such as the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, which provides financial assistance to women needing health care who live in states with heavy abortion restrictions.
If Ms. Harris became president, she could do all the things she has promised to do on Day 1.
