Donald Trump? When Does Congress Impeach, Indict & Evict Him?

As the world moves faster and faster toward possible nuclear war and destruction of life on Earth our 47th President Donald Trump races to turn our democracy into a racist, fascist dictatorship which erases our legal protections under our Constitution and the infrastructure rules that have evolved over our history to make us the most powerful, effective form of governance ever in human history.

Then the Senate GOP puts Pete Hegseth, a Fox TV presenter (albeit a combat survivor with no administrative competence) as Secretary of Defense at this time of the greatest nuclear and lesser war threats. Where are roaring protests from the Democrat leaders and in fact from every American watching Trump’s rush to turn governance of the United States to a power mad autocracy??

What further harm to the basic principles of our republic does this convicted felon have to do to prompt our Congress to impeach, indict and toss this dangerous traitor out????

Trump once bragged in his 2016 campaign that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in New York City and never lose any voters! Now he is dismantling our country and flouting his arrogance in installing his retribution on anyone not kissing his ring!

He just withdrew Secret Service protection from possible Iran attackers of John Bolton who served as his National Security Advisor in his first administration. The same withdrawal of security was made for Mike Pompeo Trump’s Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021. Likewise, to the famously effective NIH (now retired drug researcher) Doctor Anthony Fauci!

When Trump pardoned over 1500 January 6, 2021, Capitol attackers including the head of the Proud Boys and the Oath Takers, he released terrorist leaders and their allies who will regather to form and try to advance more Charlottesville type behaviors.

These men and or their followers could well threaten the lives of any who testified to them during their trials, where they were convicted on solid evidence by a jury of their peers.

I have recently cited the gutless GOP members of Congress who failed to stop Trump saving their seats from primary campaign. Their behavior then now makes their present standing up to Trump unlikely, but there must be many of their Congressional members who must be horrified at what has occurred since January 20th!

After following his first term record as president, especially after attempting a coup to keep his predecessor from assuming office on January 6, 2001, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the perception by many citizens that their only recourse will be the ballot box is now ridiculous!!

There seemed to be no end to his ability, not only to invade punishment for his multiple crimes but also his drive to engage in powerful moves against our democracy, aided and embedded by his billionaire cronies, including Elon Musk whose courting of the most right-wing world leaders is well documented. Was this a Hitler salute?

Other actions such as eliminating FEMA, stopping Foreign AID and firing at least 14 independent inspectors general in a late-night purge are some additional frightening actions just announced.

On immigration the Washington Post reports that “Trump ramps up ICE arrests, alarming cities and immigrant communities” It noted “The number of suspects arrested — several hundred per day — has been outpaced by the psychological impact of the attention on ICE operations”.

We have truly reached a new Gilded Age and there does not seem to be any end insight, except that the decisions Trump now clearly believes himself totally without responsibility. This madness would seem to be not simply solvable by voting him out of office, but more justifiably by impeaching, convicting and finding a way to get him out of office.

Does that remind you of the history of Putin using his position as President of Russia to keep his oligarchs backing him in taking over a permanent dictatorship?

Now as Trump and Putin meet to discuss Putin’s Ukrainian invasion, Trump’s apparent adoration of Putin makes a good deal for Ukraine very much at risk.
