Putin Demands Are A Frack Point For America now!

As Putin and Trump prepare to meet, we have reached what in retrospect will be judged a main point in the order of world affairs.

Putin has now reached a point where he has potentially one of his objective with the Ukraine war as the discussion now between Putin and Trump seems to be about an exchange of Ukrainian land captured by Russia in it illegal invasion.

In their September 10, 2024 presidential debate, Trump claimed that he would quickly solve the Ukrainian war by talking to Putin. In response, after pointing out his evaluation of the circumstances, Kamala Harris said “Putin will eat you for lunch” in what now be what must be the best summary of the prospects for this current meeting.

You will recoil in horror as you recall that debate in full here and hear Trump lies what has subsequently occurred in his 2nd term.

This potential Ukraine give away obviously cannot be permitted to happen and the reaction against such land trading or failure to reach a substantial agreement that will keep Putin from resuming his invasion will require backbone from our NATO allies and from members of Congress from both parties.

There seem to have been no progress made on ensuring that Putin can once again attack Ukraine and get more land just as they have already stolen Crimea in 2014.

My previous opinion piece argues that the only solution to avoid further Putin incursions into Ukraine would be to immediately make Ukraine a member of NATO.

Now the other members of NATO besides the USA must in their own crucial interests stand up to any sell out deal to Putin which does not ensure resumption of his Ukrainian invasion!! EU leaders are pleading with Trump to avoid a land trade with Putin.

Now it is entirely clear that Trump is prepared to give Putin almost everything he wants. He is demanding, as reported in the August 14 Washington Post story entitled “Europe’s plea: do not trade Lyiv’s land” with its subtitle “leaders work to shape Trump’s thinking ahead of summit with Putin”.

Zelinsky, of course has been excluded from attending this meeting since Putin has managed to get Trump to dismiss Zelinsky as a lesser power to be controlled by the two dominant powers.

We are fully aware of Trump’s vulnerability based on the fact that he has consistently treated Putin with kid gloves. Suspicion is now rampant that Putin has something on Trump that enables him to control Trump.

This meeting according to Secretary of State Rubio is to find out what Putin wants, which is the most absurd description of its purpose since we know precisely what Putin wants because he has stated it clearly.

If Trump comes to these demands or in some way tries to make some compromise that would not substantially foreclose future Russian invasions of Ukraine than the entire European Union and the NATO alliance is under serious threat.

Somehow, lurking behind all of this is the totally unresolved Jeffrey Epstein affair, which of course could have some direct connection to the power that Putin seems to have.

While the circumstances of two vital events in American history are not comparable, the Japanese of a invasion of Pearl Harbor, at least pike, mediate awareness that isolationism would not work. In this case, failing to stand up to Putin is a form of stupid isolationism that can only precipitate a recycling of the world order and a continuing demotion of America’s ability to sustain some level of world stability at a time when so many crises are pushing us to disastrous scenarios, driven by wars, environment, racism, disease, and vast economic disparity between the affluent and the poor.
