Trump now pulls a TACO on Chicago!

Can we find any significance in the fact that Trump is now going to deploy National Guard troops to Memphis?

Apparently, his loudmouth threats to Chicago faced enough negativity which would only have been bad for him politically, so he has turned to a lesser target, where he claims that both Republican and Democrat support has been obtained. Just another lie.

You recall that the word TACO was quickly interpreted to “Trump always chickens out” when he placed exorbitant tariffs on allies and enemies and then brought the percent of tariffs down.

Now, apparently, Trump is going to approve being a TACO on the National Guard issue.

It will be most interesting to see how this evolves. It will be particularly interesting to see how he use the Charlie Kirk assassination as a bludgeon to claim that crime is out of control in many cities when the figures actually disclose that crime has been declining and the most recent reports for cities like Washington DC and Chicago.

This does not mean that crime of the grizzliest type does not occur in every single major market in the country. However, the percentage of these crimes is very small indeed. For every hundred thousand people the murder rate works out to a ratio of .0007!

This use of the crime issue to propel his authoritarian agenda certainly equates with all of his other standard approaches.

Donald Trump has been ruling like an authoritarian since retaking office in his 2nd term.

Trump appeared to tease the notion of the United States becoming a full-fledged dictatorship while signing executive orders in the Oval Office.

While Democrats may take heart from Trump‘s increasing stumbles with tariffs or the fact that JFK Junior has offered utterly false data to support exposing our entire nation to health disasters, it is hoped that attacking Trump will not keep Democrats from raising other issues, such as how they can offer protection from the retrograde policies Trump now espouses!

That certainly would include seeking more youthful leadership, which would allow them to put forward a shovel candidates who could run against JD Vance or any other right-wing Republican in 2028.
