Trump is creating more chances for terrorism in the US!

Since the formation of NATO on April 4, 1949 we have engaged in many overseas military adventures, presumably in defence of democracy versus communism, despite President Eisenhower’s warning against the power of the military industrial complex, which might encourage such actions.

Our stated reasons were arguably necessary such as the missile crisis in 1962 and many other circumstances where we might’ve felt actions were required to save a democratic government from a communist takeover, etc.

It certainly can be argued that we saved South Korea from take over from the North, but also we can recall with considerable regret how we lost in Vietnam after inflicting a horrible damage on that country.

I’ve had the privilege of visiting Vietnam twice in the 1990s. Since 1975 when the US left after losing that war, that country has come back very successfully!

Incidentally, while we were thought to have been attacked by Vietnam at the start of that war, it turned out President Johnson that we had fired the first shots.

Of course, our latest war instigation was at the behest an increasingly demented and mindless president who failed to anticipate the blocking of the Strait of Humoz in attacking Iran.

The world is now faced with a lost war that will certainly leave an increasingly angry and dangerous regime in place, with plenty of firepower left to continue for as long as Iran choses, not Trump who is a proven LOSER!

On September 11, 2001 we suffered the attack on the Trade Towers in New York, and it certainly seems possible that this latest aggressive action by us will open us to the possibility of terrorism here in the United States.

The world grows less habitable as we add human numbers whose lives have become less sustainable with its limited resources and with our environment under growing pressure.

The prospect of a nuclear trigger grows with every one of these wars, including the Ukrainian war which shows no signs of abating soon especially now that Trump has removed the sanctions on the purchase of Russian oil which threatens Ukraine’s ability to survive Putin’s attacks.

And the American GOP seems to have failed to get the message that bombing an opponent to submission won’t work.

Many Americans clearly understand the stupidity of our present position, but whether or not the midterm elections will permit a clean out of the GOP in Congress remains to be seen.

At the moment, the main hope would be that Trump will not try to bomb “Iran into the Stone Age”, an illegal action on the targets he proposes, and we can stop spending $1 billion a day money that we need to help solve our domestic problems and begin to contemplate how we are going to handle a national debt of $38 trillion!

We have lost our reputation with our NATO allies, and many other longtime allies who will have little sympathy should something nasty happen on US soil.

And of course, resuming transit of 20% of the world’s oil supply through the Strait of Hurmoz is up to Iran.

Will Trump’s next masterful foreign military adventure be Cuba? Perhaps someone in the White House or in the government will recall how well we did when we tried to take over Cuba under Castro in 1959.
