As we celebrated Juneteenth as a new Federal holiday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and the other GOP doxies who ignore reality for presumably winning control of Seats in both Houses of Congress, we can get more and more concerned for the survival of our democracy!
We just got on Sunday, June 20th, disturbing new film of the January 6th insurrection which exposed further what the vast majority of us realize is now subject to the outrageous lying by numerous GOP house members about the violence that Trump engendered!
In trying to keep their power the Trump wing of the Republican Party, by passing state voting laws that restrict minority participation in democracy, we realize their true racist motivation and fear!
As the report from the distinguished Brookings Institute projects, whites will be out numbered by minorities by 2045. Read it here!

And as Obama said here, democracy is in real danger.
Obama noted that GOP-controlled state legislatures have begun passing their own laws that would allow politicians to overturn or otherwise interfere with election results.
“Republican politicians who didn’t like the outcome of the presidential election … now want to change the rules for how ballots are counted, and who gets to count them,” he said.
He added that “individually each one of these laws making it harder to vote may not seem like a big deal” and that “a lot of people voted in the last election.” However, “the violence that occurred in the U.S. capitol on January 6, just a few months ago, should remind us that we can’t take our democracy for granted.”
He went on to say that “Around the world we’ve seen once-vibrant democracies go in reverse. It is happening in other places around the world and these impulses have crept into the United States … we are not immune from some of these efforts to weaken our democracy.”

Does Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell see the numbers of minorities now running for political office? Obviously he does! And he and his white bigots apparently see their Trump controlled GOP’s attempts to delay democracy as their only choice.
By 2045 if our fragile democracy can provide sufficient equality for all our citizens we will no longer attack gays, or frown on misogyny or allow the blatant police brutality that murdered George Floyd.
But our rich and powerful nation will need to govern wisely by urgently working on such vital issues as climate change, overpopulation, women’s reproductive rights, taming nuclear war chances, and, yes, overcoming mass migrations from poor nations to rich nations by helping those poor nations, particularly in our hemisphere with aid based on their meeting reasonable conditions for democracy.
A big menu which can’t be deferred by hopes of bipartisanship which is never coming from the GOP’s Trumpers, Senator Manchin!
Jim Crow and its continuing unconstitutional Filibuster must go ASAP!
