The kind of court testimony offered by Marjorie Taylor Greene is typical of the cultural circuses offered by GOP Trumpian supporters.

In an extraordinary public hearing, @RepMTG was forced under oath to defend her actions around the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. She repeated false claims that the election was stolen but said she had nothing to do with the violent assault. w/ @gettinviggy https://t.co/vViOccWm1R

The NY Times piece begins: “In an extraordinary administrative law hearing, the Georgia representative was forced to defend her actions surrounding the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.”
Greene basically denied any part in the insurrection which is total lying on her part, but totally in line with the Trumpian crowd. Multiple media stories tell the same distressing story. Here is another article like the above, but Greene, opinion is, that she won’t be kept off the ballot and will win a second term this Fall.

Florida Governor DeSantis is one of the prime candidates for President in 2024. He is against teaching about racism in Florida schools, Does that make him racist?

“It’s just illustrating Gov. DeSantis’ pattern of Black attack policies led by Republican legislators. He has taken a culture war to a classic Republican battleground, which is the public schools. It’s going to hurt our children’s futures,”′ said Nixon https://t.co/uxN4dm31eL

He doesn’t like Disney either. Disney, a Florida family entertainment icon for decades is attacked: Read here.
With Trumpian clones like Greene and DeSantis and the many spineless GOP Congress now in office and likely to be re-elected Trump has basically won his goal of authoritarian power taken without governing except to create media circuses using web sites that collect millions from naive supporters who unwittingly are voting for their disempowerment.
Meanwhile Biden governs amazingly well, even as he crippled by the Trump party of NO!
But the urgency of Earth’s climate crisis is bringing down any reasonable potential for habitable life for all life on our tiny planet while Putin diverts climate action with a war backed by nuclear threats.
We, as the world’s major polluter, have for decades had a bipartisan failing government which the oil companies bamboozled with big campaign money for years even as they did sophisticated research and knew exactly what fossil fuels were doing to our future.
Just like the lies of the tobacco companies who knew smoking caused lung cancer but told us all how safe smoking was. Nat King Cole died young.
Only this time we are talking about the anatomy of the whole earth and too few big world leaders are politically able to focus enough action now a avoid dire climate consequences by mid-century!
The Chinese are piling on. As the 4/22 Washington Post headline tells us, “With coal surge, China puts energy security and growth before climate”

And John Kerry one of the few honest political voices left in DC warns us climate disaster is coming without getting our government fully on board. Read here.

Any chance for salvation? Alternative power sources including nuclear are being contemplated but the burgeoning Ukraine war in Europe and the intransigence of those in power makes Greta Thunberg’s generation angry but very likely impotent to bring effective progress in time.
The famous author and social commentator, Noam Chomsky summed his and my views perfectly in his recent statement, but are we too few old people to be heard? We will soon know as unusual fires, storms, floods and tundra collapses will continue to forecast our future in the NEAR future.
I quote the main points of his recent article which you can read in full below:
Chomsky, who is 93, said the current state of geopolitics brings to mind the “grim cloud of fascism” that hung over Europe during his childhood in the 1930s.
“It’s just gotten worse,” he said. “We are now facing the prospect of destruction of organized human life on Earth.”
Aside from the threat of nuclear war, he said, the world is facing the planetary emergency and the refusal of wealthy countries to mitigate the crisis by taking sufficient action to draw down fossil fuel emissions and shift to renewable energy sources.
With the Democratic Party in the U.S. facing plummeting poll numbers and failing to deliver bold climate action and anti-poverty measures, the government could soon be in the hands of the Republican Party—which, because of the “fanaticism” of former President Donald Trump, Chomsky said, “barely regards climate change as a serious problem.”
“That’s a death warrant to the species,” he said.
"We are now facing the prospect of destruction of organized human life on Earth."

And the unsustainable number of humans now alive on Earth will continue to galvanize these trends as Sir David Attenborough and many other credible experts have long reported. You can read my 2 books confirming that POV here and here.
