Our Constitutional verities are vanishing along with chances for saving Planet Earth

Many have pointed out the attacks which Trump has made upon our Constitutional safeguards. Judges seem to have temporarily, at least, blocked many of his clearly illegal attacks on the beautiful system that 250 years ago began as a republic, which Benjamin Franklin hoped we could keep.

Now, as we hear about the dispersion of national guard troops and jurisdictions where they are not wanted, we can hope that our legal system can block each attempt. Trump falsely claims that these cities are in turmoil when they are plainly shown by photos, not in turmoil!

Then we have heard that Trump intends to invoke the Insurrection Act, about which you can read below, but we are keenly aware that our Supreme Court has, on too many occasions, not restricted Trump ‘s power.

White House officials have held increasingly serious discussions in recent days about President Donald Trump’s invoking the Insurrection Act, a rarely used 19th century law that gives the president the power to deploy active-duty troops inside the United States for law enforcement purposes, five people with knowledge of the talks told NBC News.

Trump has sought to deploy National Guard troops in several major cities — including Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland, Oregon — saying they are needed to reduce crime and protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials from protesters. Critics have said the Trump administration is exaggerating issues in those cities.

A decision to invoke the act is not expected to be imminent, a senior administration official said. Were it to happen, it would be a notable escalation. The guard is currently deployed in limited support roles since active-duty members of the military are forbidden from conducting civilian law enforcement actions, such as conducting searches and making arrests. But the Insurrection Act allows the president to deploy troops inside the United States for that purpose.

Tech billionaire Peter Thiel recently warned that Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and critics of technology or artificial intelligence are “legionnaires of the Antichrist” in private lectures on Christianity that connected government oversight of Silicon Valley to an apocalyptic future, according to recordings reviewed by The Washington Post.

In the four, roughly two-hour lectures, which began last month and culminated Monday at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, Thiel laid out his religious views to a sold-out audience told to keep the contents “off-the-record,” according to an event listing. He argued that those who propose limits on technology development not only hinder business but also threaten to usher in the destruction of the United States and an era of global totalitarian rule, according to the recordings.

In the 17th, 18th century, the Antichrist would have been a Dr. Strangelove, a scientist who did all this sort of evil crazy science,” Thiel said in his Sept. 15 opening talk, according to the recordings. “In the 21st century, the Antichrist is a Luddite who wants to stop all science. It’s someone like Greta or Eliezer,” he said, referring to Thunberg and Eliezer Yudkowsky, a prominent critic of the tech industry’s approach to AI.

Thunberg has criticized global capitalism as a driver of environmental degradation while Yudkowsky advocates for limiting AI research to prevent the technology from surpassing human intelligence. Thiel previously funded Yudkowsky’s work but said in his Sept. 15 lecture that he is now embarrassed by the association and that the AI critic and others like him have become “deranged,” according to the recordings.

Perhaps the most brilliant of our Constitutional truths is its verity way of keeping the power of church and state separated, so that decisions made in the governance of our country would be made on a secular basis and not through the lens of any religious fantasy.

Now that precious verity has come under sharp attack from rich billionaires who seem to be willing to grab power using any ideology, they think can facilitate success in installing an authoritarian regime that reflects their beliefs.

Of course, humans on Planet Earth have been offered many ways to believe in a God, but as we can see each one provides an illusionary but effective method that will allow unscrupulous people to elevate themselves personally to collect power that is totally based on fantasy.

Considering the enormity of our universe with literally trillions of stars which could easily contain life similar to our own earth, we are reminded of our closest star that can be seen by the naked human eye is Alpha Centauri which is 4.37 light years away so determining life. It’s similar to our earth will not be something rapidly to be done. In the meantime we shall have to confront the fantasies offered by Peter Thiel, Donald Trump and many other dangerous hucksters who have sucked in enough of our citizens to erase the freedom we now enjoy.

The annihilating effects the 6th Extinction predicted by many respected scientists is well underway while the powerful enemies of our survival have ignored the obvious and committed and their range for power to a future of widespread disaster.

Our Constitutional verities are vanishing under Trump, but their loss may prove to be irrelevant as extinction looms sharply ahead as many obvious solutions are ignored.
