Progressives for Immigration Reform

This week PFIR carried my blog about the Big 7 and how their personal interests conflict with those of American citizens, but feathered the nests of the Big 7. Just to remind you, here is the prompt.
Hitting the NY Times best seller list at #2 recently, the book by Ann Coulter entitled “Adios America! The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country Into A Third World Hellhole” has resulted in a spate of big media attacks.
Reading the coverage including the July 8th Washington Post, especially the Milbank piece, we know that for many of us, including me, Donald Trump has many warts—anti Choice, anti LGBT etc — but as I read this almost hysterical article I was reminded of Abraham Lincoln’s famous aphorism “you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”
So much has been written on immigration since the founding of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in 1979 by the moderate, thoughtful, advocates for real immigration reform.
But nothing has been done to stem the massive, unneeded flow. In fact the Big 7 have been busy bamboozling our citizens with cries of overt labor shortages, ostensibly requiring the huge inflow of large numbers of refugees (many precipitated by our own foreign preemptive wars), providing aid and comfort to aliens over US citizens frankly mostly to aid the greedy interests of the Big 7.
Since 1965 when major changes in our immigration law were made, our population has doubled to 325 million without any vote by us citizens. No needs tests, no environmental impact reports by our government, no thoughts given to the poorest among us which suffer so greatly from the large-scale entrance of predominantly uneducated aliens both legally and illegally.
However, let’s face it, the interests of the Big 7 are so powerful that these moderate, thoughtful, voices bearing such good policy advice coupled with the warnings of ignoring its consequences, have been largely ignored by both of our major political parties, including the recent book and other writings by former PFIR board chair, Philip Cafaro, a philosophy professor at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. His book How Many Is Too Many? The Progressive argument for reducing immigration into the United States was published by University of Chicago Press.
I mention this as Professor Cafaro’s specialty covers ethical behavior which of course includes NOT lying as has been done for so long by the Big 7. Again the result has been that our population has doubled without a vote of us citizens with probably at least 30 million aliens here illegally and a surfeit of legal aliens who have impacted our jobs, our tax revenues, our environment just to name a few consequences.
For a quick comprehensive review of the range of issues on which these moderate voices have opined, I refer you to this prompt on The Social Contract Magazine and you will quickly see and can read yourself the extensive literature counseling reasonable immigration reform.
I found particularly compelling a piece in the magazine’s Spring 2015 issue by 3 term Colorado Governor Richard Lamm which you can access here.
So now these improbable voices, Trump and Coulter point out the obvious. They say what has occurred and of course get the full power of the Big 7, particularly the Big Media, saying that they are racists for telling the truth.
This week on the Today Show, Chuck Todd, the political reporter on NBC, said he sees their newsworthiness as passing soon.
However, the July 8th Washington Post had several prominent pieces discussing Trump, all highly negative and none hitting on Trump’s main truth from his initial statement on immigration, that every nasty media comment FAILS on the central point, that a country which can’t control its borders is not a country.
Why not make sure we address THE BIG LIE from the Big 7? How about some media truth?
How about really taking a deep hard look at the uncontrolled immigration that has occurred (and is occurring around Europe). Are we now (or will we soon be) a country of predominantly less educated multicultural occupants who reside in a nation of past riches soon to be consumed? The USA will then be overwhelmed and surpassed by others, while environmentally the world rushes toward the doom of reasonable human existence.
Who was that professor who wrote last week that the glut of humanity on this planet meant our doom?
As my recent piece for PFIR notes, the Big 7 have control of us and have either deliberately or inadvertently lied to us for decades about immigration and their own greedy motives for wanting it to continue.
Milbank can cavil about Trump’s other statements, but the truth of Donald’s statements about what kind of policies should be in place to protect our borders and enforce our immigration laws has echoed loud and clear to a massive group of Americans.
Remember, as with Joe Goebbels, the big lie told often enough can sway a nation of bright educated people into mad behavior.
